QUALITY: FIVE STARS for the three men who performed the move. They were friendly, professional and completed the work in a very timely manner. We were moving our mother from a small assisted living apt with an elevator. All items were packed, ready to be moved, and furniture was very minimal, no appliances other than a microwave. We were moving her items to a storage unit about 3 miles away. Took the men about 30 min to load, at best. They also moved a smaller storage unit of her items into a larger unit with the items from the apartment, all on same level of storage facility. Total time from start to finish was 2 hours. PRICE/BUSINESS PRACTICE OF OWNER: ZERO STARS!!!! My problem is with the owner, Tom. I had talked with him twice, in detail, regarding the move. I provided a detailed list of what was being moved, including the number of totes, and he even offered to move contents of her smaller unit into the larger unit since it was on same level of storage facility. He quoted $615 for 3 men for 3 hours, the first time, then second time quoted $625 for 3 men for 3 hours, each time stating the price included everything. I inquired about extra fees on top of this charge. (I'd moved my parents twice already within the last 14 mos plus have two cross-country moves as well as a handful of local moves under my belt so I'm well aware of additional fees - fuel, mileage, etc). Each time I was reassured there would be no additional cost. I made a point to ask him about this since I'd read reviews of him overcharging others. I should have known better, but a friend of my mothers recommended and this is who she wanted to go with. Honestly, my dad had just died a month earlier and my mom was being uprooted for the 3rd time in 14 months due to their failing health and I was just ready to have the move over with. When the job was complete, I was presented with a bill for $715.00. I called Tom on the spot and he was rude and kept saying the quote didn't include certain charges - a contradiction from what he quoted me TWICE earlier! When he spoke to the young man taking my payment, I overheard him saying, "charge her this way since she's freaking out about the charge", which ended up being the same amount. Poor Tom, you are just the type of business person that gives decent folks a bad name. When you have someone standing up for themselves regarding what you quoted earlier on two occasions, a person who has moving experience and knows the right questions to ask, your response is to name-call and belittle them to your employees?? Tony who presented the bill and was one of the three men moving, was apologetic. I explained I was a very detail and organized business person and I didn't appreciate the owner's lying and name-calling. Tony apologized again and said this is a frequent complaint he hears from their customers. As someone who works in a career field who has the opportunity to recommend moving services to clients, you will NEVER get a recommendation from myself, my family or friends. BEWARE: If you use this moving service, PLEASE GET A WRITTEN QUOTE OUTLINING ALL FEES UP FRONT SO YOU AREN'T SURPRISED AT TIME TO PAY THE BILL. Owner Tom is friendly and accomodating on the phone, but in the end, be prepared to have him call you names if you question anything about your bill!

Tom Powers is the owner and over the phone told us the charges. When the move was done we are billed close to $200.00 more than we were told.Tom was to call us to settle this. No call back.We were very pleased with the 3 movers. They communicated, were careful and cautious not to damage items.Remember to tip the movers as they do back breaking work for hours.I would get a signed contract next time showing hidden charges on an invoice.After reading the owners response, we are even more disappointed. All we were told was a flat fee of $75 for the truck and $180 an hour for 3 guys. Parts of his story have some truth, but parts are pure fabrication. Worst of all was things that are simply not relative. In my opinion, a lack of professionalism and we will not make this mistake again.

The only moving company I will use! I’ve used them numerous times over the past 15 years and have been very happy every time. These men HUSTLE! I’ll continue to use them in the future and recommend them to everyone I know that’s moving!

Moving from Sedalia to Lee's Summit:Tom was very prompt with all correspondence regarding our move and Tony and Chris (the movers) were absolutely fantastic! They started right in and they didn't even slow down! They were very courteous and careful! Nothing got broken or even scratched!And the final price was well below the original estimate.Thank you to all of you ☺️

I needed a quality, affordable, and professional moving company to relocate my business and all our furniture from Independence to our new office in Blue Springs. Powerhouse Moving was referred to us, and they did not disappoint. The owner, Tom, and his crew came out before the big move-in day and walked our office. I shared some concerns I had with heavier furniture and fragile items. Tom and his crew did a great job putting my worries at ease. On the day of the move, he and his team were early and ready to pack and load. We moved multiple offices that day, and I was concerned with the time it would take to complete a move this big. From start to finish, Tom and his crew had us loaded and unloaded before noon. Ont a single furniture item was damaged, and everything was cared for as if it was his furniture. I recommend these guys for any residential or commercial move you may have coming up. Thanks again, fellas!

Can't say enough about how great our moving experience was with Powerhouse. We had hired a company on the recommendation of a friend. After two days and much $$$, it still wasn't done. I called Powerhouse on a Sunday. Got a return call and an on-site estimate on Monday. They came out on Thursday and got it done. Even helped move some items out of a POD at the new location. Professional, courteous, and hard working. Definitely recommend.

This is a great name for this company. The team that moved us were very polite, friendly and worked hard. We did all our own packing. My only disgruntle is that the cost to move us ended up being higher than expected even though someone came out to look at our contents before we moved. I would absolutely use Powerhouse Moving again.

I can't say enough about this company. They had our apartment packed and unpacked into our house in less than 2 hours. They were careful and considerate of our belongings and the buildings they were in. They were friendly and professional. Powerhouse is a great name for this company because...wow. They made moving this stuff look easy, and I KNOW some of that stuff was HEAVY. If you need something moved, this is absolutely the company to go with. I am beyond impressed.
