Staff is friendly, but this place is so overpriced. Not to mention how they misdiagnose animals! I took my chihuahua here about 6 months ago and he was diagnosed with dementia, yet he shows no symptoms and he's perfectly fine. All they want to do here is pump your dogs full of shots and make you pay $600 for nothing! I can take my dogs somewhere else and get them vaccinated for $110. Ridiculous.

Our little guy Geronimo had to have surgery in may after swallowing a rock. All the staff was so great, made us feel that Geronimo was in the best hands. He’s fully recovered and is a happy little boy again. Thank you all so much for saving our little man’s life!

This is the best veterinary clinic I've found, thus far. They are very professional and knowledgeable. This is my third veterinary clinic I've tried and so far I'm happy with how they run things. They are very knowledgeable and have taken care of my puppy since he was 6 weeks old. I am taking my cat this week for something, so we'll see how that goes. I will update my review if anything goes sideways. It takes a while to get your first appointment to be seen here, but after that, they are able to get you in, fairly quickly.

Our experience was top notch. Our dog got a TPLO surgery and the staff and Dr. Joe Rodier were wonderful at communicating and making sure we knew Maggie was well taken care of.

Our dog tore her ACL and needed surgery. We asked around on Next Door and there were a lot of good suggestions. I called around and checked websites for many of the suggested veterinary surgeons. What impressed me with Blue Springs Animal Hospital is that when I called, they said that the vet will want to speak to me. The next day, the vet called and explained the options, risks, procedures and costs. He was direct and kind and patient. He had performed this surgery more than two thousand times. We scheduled the first (free) consultation. We live in Shawnee. I had not been to Blue Springs and did not know about this animal hospital. It was impressive. The front desk reminded me of the front desks of hotels. Normally, a front desk doesn't warrant a whole paragraph of mention, but this desk was HUGE, spanning nearly the entire length of the building. It kept things moving fast though, with multiple stations to check in and check out. The whole hospital is designed so efficiently. To see the vet, you walk down a long hallway with exam rooms sprinkled on each side. The exam rooms on the left have two doors, one leads out to the hallway and the other interior one goes directly into a large interior area where the veterinarian and technicians perform X-rays, etc. and enables them to use a "back way" to venture from room to room with ease. Each exam room has its own computer screen, and the vet explained the surgery with my dog's x-rays pulled up on the screen so I could ask questions and understand more about the procedure. The whole time he was explaining it, part of me was thinking that he has gone through this same explanation over two thousand times and he doesn't treat it like he has said it over two thousand times. He really treats your animal like it is his own, and could understand that it was scary for me. He was reassuring, and gave me the pay structure (which was extremely reasonable) up front while conducting the free consultation. The vet overall has a focused, relaxed and friendly/kind demeanor. It was early Monday morning when we arrived for the surgery, and the hospital was already bustling with people and animals and employees. They saw us within 10-15 minutes of our arrival (this was consistent with all the visits). I was nervous before the surgery, because my dog is my baby, and she had never been under anesthesia. I also worried about her staying overnight at the hospital, which was required for them to monitor vitals throughout the day and at night and then check her surgical wounds the next morning. The vet called on my phone to reassure me before he went into the surgery. He promised to call me afterwards as well, which he did! He let me know she had zero complications and explained some of the things he encountered in her surgery. He briefed me about post-op care and gave me a heads up that I would receive a post-op packet/printouts from them when I picked her up (which I did receive). I cannot express how much it meant to me that he kept me in the loop on all aspects of the surgery. The fact that he took the time to call and reassure me before the surgery went a long way with me. It was very, very kind. I greatly appreciated that. I was so relieved to hear from him after surgery. I was on pins and needles until I received this call. I think he sensed my nervousness and close bond that I have with my dog, which speaks to his excellent people skills. He is really so good with animal-animals and human-animals! The surgery had a 12 week recovery. She officially healed and was given her okay to play again in September 2021. While recovery was hard in her first few weeks, it became easier as time progressed. Her scar is imperceptible now and she went back to her favorite dog park and ran and ran like she did when she was a puppy. He restored her quality of life, which had greatly diminished. She really seems to love her ability to run again and her vitality and excitement for life is back. Thank you Dr Rodier!

I discovered fostering rescue puppies during COVID. Which resulted in a family addition of 3 puppies since the “shut down”. It quickly escalated to being an over the top, fanatic dog mom. Which suits me just fine. (I throw amazing mom & dog litter reunion Birthday

I have multiple stories both personal and from friends about this place but I'll spare you. We stopped going here years ago because of their absolutely ridiculous pricing. I know, you're thinking I'm some broke a$$ who can't afford nice things. You couldn't be more wrong. I have no problem paying the going rate for the finer things in life. Well, we realized our 2 dogs were past due for shots and vaccinations. We booked this place because they had the soonest availability. Also, how can you price gouge someone on shots right??? $907!!! Mic drop. Never again!!!
