Best place in St. Louis if you are a quality tequila drinker! They have the top labels from the small batch farms in Mexico that produce top quality additive free tequila. Tom is incredibly knowledgeable, both wine and tequila as well as every other spirit.

I've been shopping at various Wine & Cheese locations over several years, but I find very few reasons to shop here nowadays. Far too many bottles are raffled instead of stocked in stores. Today, I stopped by looking for the recent Valencia release. The man at the counter said that was a bottle they only sold through the raffle. I ended up driving a few miles away and purchasing two bottles of Valencia at a different liquor store.

I had fun on my Saturday browse of this shop during a recent visit. Having been to the former location of The Wine & Cheese Place (in a strip mall, juxtaposed with a Christian Science Reading Room), I found this Lamp & Lantern village location to be an upgrade - even though the space is compact, it doesn't have the feel of being claustrophobic and gets plenty of natural light. As other reviewers pointed out, the store features a solid collection of liquors and craft beers in addition to wines. I ended up picking up a bottle of St. George vodka to replenish my collection as I had previously tried and loved the gin from this brand. The wine selection is well organized by region and variety, even going so far as to include at-a-glance signage denoting which bottles are "patio pounders" (a phrase I have since appropriated). There happened to be a wine tasting underway. It's been a while but my recall is that it showcased three bottles - red, white, and either a rose or sparkling. The white evoked a sauvignon blanc, and I ended up with a bottle of that as well. The selection of cheeses and olives isn't extremely expansive, as other reviewers mentioned, but perhaps that was a business decision as Dierberg's market, Schnucks, and Whole Foods are just a stone's throw away. The Bloody Mary seasoned peanuts, which I have not seen anywhere else, are highly delicious.

Huge selection with very friendly, knowledgeable and honest people. Feels like the kind of place where you might pay a bit more for the quality of experience, but in fact their prices are great too (consistently lower than Total Wine). I truly enjoy shopping here.

Name notwithstanding , this is NOT a cheese shop. 97% wines and spirits display, with one small freezer case having a few pre-cut pre-wrapped cheese wedges And a few frozen "New York bagels " but no fresh breads or crackers?This is a liquor store. Get cheese at Trader Joe's or Dierberg. Not the place to get you picnic basket for the Muni!! Very disappointing!!

The Wine and Cheese Place is my favorite place to buy wine and spirits mainly because of their excellent service. Their supply may be a little smaller than some of the bigger stores, but they are more than willing to take requests and arrange to get them quickly. Their prices are also very competitive. Great service and good prices, a winning combination.
