I want to preface by saying I am considered a chronically ill patient with 4 different chronic conditions. In the last week alone I’ve been sent for four different blood draws by 3 different doctors. When I came in yesterday I tried to explain this to the phlebotomist that I just wanted to get the blood drawn in a different spot than the 4 other draws I’ve had. She immediately told me I could just do it myself then. This was baffling and appalling to me. I was very confused as I wasn’t trying to tell her how to do anything, just a personal preference to not be stuck in my inner elbow AGAIN. I tried to politely ask if she was just having a bad day or if I offended her and that just made everything worse. She gave me a whole spiel about how she’s been doing this for 14 years and doesn’t need me to tell her how to do it. Again I never once tried to tell her how to do anything. She told the other women to stick me bc I “accused” her of having a bad day. The other women was kinder but they still seemed to believe I was complaining about someone sticking me a bunch so she was trying to tell me they knew what they were doing and other places that take blood don’t. And I wasn’t arguing this- I simply have had to have multiple blood draws due to medical reason not bc someone else didn’t stick me right. This appointment ended with me crying in overwhelm bc for some reason nurses, doctors, and even local phlebotomists now are all so callous and rude with patients these days. No one wants to be sick. No one wants to have so many blood tests done. A little compassion and empathy goes a long way and these ladies do not have those skills. I want to add that I specifically have a connective tissue disorder that not only makes me bruise easy but makes my veins blow much easier than others. They do not care to know about any condition you have, even if it’s relevant information to their job. Any comment about personal health or needs or even anxiousness is met with the insistence they they know how to do their job and you are the problem.
IF you’re in and out and need a blood test for work or something I’m sure this is a fine place. But if you need monthly blood draws like me, or have chronic illnesses, I highly suggest finding a location with a better staff. I don’t expect perfection from anywhere I go but I was just so taken aback from this behavior. It’s unacceptable and disgusting to be treated like I was at this location. And mind you- also ILLEGAL for her to try to make me stick myself.

I don't get why they have such a low score. Every time I go there I have a great experience. They are on time, super friendly and kind, efficient, knowledgable, and the place is clean. The staff crush it and make it a wonderful experience!

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had getting bloodwork done. The check in was easy, the staff was so quick and on it to bring people back. Nyna did my bloodwork and got me on the first try (which never happens for me)
I’ll definitely come back here whenever I need bloodwork done. Thank you so much!

They might not have been the most professional, but they were great. I will definitely go back to this location.

UPDATED 2024. I have continued to return to this location and they are pretty fantastic. There are some new staff who are helpful and friendly. Expert at drawing blood. I will definitely return.
Updated 2022. After leaving and understandably emotional voicemail, management contacted me same . So I'm improving my rating from 1 to 2 Stars, pending further actions. Everything was great... except for the Vxxx. employee experience. Hopefully she will find a job better suited to her skills. So if you don't run across her, you should be just fine.
Technician Tonya is fantastic, professional, friendly, and good at her job. I always have problems with my veins collapsing and multiple needle sticks. Today Tanya was teaching a student and there was a glitch but she was right there and was able to get the draw anyway then handed it back over to the student to finish up. She knew just what to do to get the vein to submit. Impressive.
I had problems with another technician over how long I was taking in the bathroom for a sample but I complained online and management called me right away. We had a productive exchange and they apologized. So I deleted my original comments here and gave another star. Hopefully this means something will be done to correct the situation forever, for all of us.
Maybe the drama queen can find a job she's better suited for that can better use her aggressive management skills. Hopefully this was the last straw at LabCorp and if not then I will not return and will continue to warn people about her. Along with the others who have already complained about her online. That donut lover technician deserves a better coworker!
Cheers to ending the drama. Life is too short for anyone to be that unhappy. Including me. 2022 should be a better year for this location.

I normally don’t write reviews, but this place is not somewhere you’ll enjoy going. I don’t know who the owner is, but they should consider hiring new people with a better attitude!

was okay. lady who took my blood was sweet and patient. saw a different lady be extremely rude to other patients, talking to them as if they were stupid. Talking down to them as though they were children or something. started yelling at them because the log-in tablet glitched and logged them in 3 times. As if that was their fault.

If you go to the ballwin location, make sure you have a strong backbone. Put your armor on and prepare for battle. They have no qualms about yelling at the customer and embarrassing patients. It's very unprofessional.

I’ve come here dozens of times - I used to come weekly during a difficult pregnancy - and the staff is always super quick and does a great job making it as easy as possible for me. I don’t like having my blood drawn but they make it relatively painless and service is SO much quicker than any Quest I’ve ever been to. I’m usually in and out in 20 minutes. Thank you, LabCorp!
