Few years late on posting a review but last time i was a member very awsome gym staff was nice lots of toys and a pool that was warm even in winter i could swim all year round.

This gym literally robs people of money! Worst gym, owners, and most overrated gym in Philadelphia. They are unorganized, they just bill you to screw people over. I would rather listen to a dog fart than go back to this gym

I’d like to say I’m a Certified Profession Trainer Ive been training for 7 years hundreds of clients in the local area, also a fitness director for the largest gym in Georgia. I have membership to several gyms in my area, recently I started going to “PAC” I was not under a contract, I only paid monthly for me and my younger brother I didn’t have a problem with the price I thought the rate was great. I wanted to add my older brother on to my account there was a younger boy who told us that it would be cheaper to get our bill set up on bank draft, we told him we still wanted to pay by the month, so he explain to us that we could all we had to do was sign a paper the same as I did before so we did. The boy never explain to us that it was a 6 month contract, so my brother wanted to cancel it because they did not explain it to us. So they told him he could be yet they still kept taking the money out. I ask about this situation 1 time and was told I need to talk with the owner. Today I went in and walk up to the counter to speak with the owner, b4 I could even try to explain my concerns to her she started disrespecting me and being VERY RUDE I literally asked her why she was being so rude to me, I told her I’m not upset I’d like to keep paying the membership it’s not about the money I only wanted my brother to be taking off, we will pay whatever price, she would not let me talk she kept laughing in my face literally she LAUGHED IN MY FACE, I have never in all my 28 years been treated so rude. It’s not about the money I told her we can pay anything but the boy did not explain this to us correctly. The boy no longer works there. The Owner told us she would sure us if we cancel the contract. LITERALLY OVER 200 dollars at the most. I can had her the money right now it’s just the sheer principle. Again I can honestly say Im very well respected in the fitness community and she talk to me as if I was trash and could not afford to come there I felt she was very racist and only treated me this was bc of my race. Also as I was walking out the door she was talking about me to some one badly to another customer loud enough for me to here it. I’d like to put this out there for anyone of the African American decent to be careful and cautious.

Philadelphia Athletic Club has by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful staff of any facility that I have ever been to. We went in to the facility and spoke with a young man that had no knowledge of the packages that were offered. I advised him that I wanted to pay monthly for myself and my two brothers. The boy said that the price would be cheaper if I put my acct on auto payment. I specified several time that I wanted it on a month by month basis and the boy stated that it was. Two months later I came back in stated that I wanted to cancel and a girl stated that it was fine and gave me paperwork to sign. I signed it on 7/13 and was told that no more money would be withdrawn from my acct. this month nearly $70 was withdrawn again. I called in asking what was going on. A female stated I was on a 6 month contract. I advised that i was never supposed to be on a contract and had made it very clear to the first gentleman that this was not what I wanted. She stated that she did have the paperwork in front of her that stated I had cancelled my membership but that I shouldn't have been told that it was cancelled bc it is a 6 month contact. Then my brother went in and asked the manager about the situation and she was extremely rude and condescending. Stating that we should have read everything. He advised her that the boy had misrepresented the membership and she stated that he's wasn't even with the company anymore. She also stated that if we didn't pay the they would sue us. I have never been involved in a situation like this. I mean the fact that they know the membership was misrepresented to us then we were told it was cancelled when it really wasn't is just ridiculous and so unprofessional. If you have started doing business here I would advise that you don't it's not worth it.
