Man, I was really disappointed in this place. Heard a lot of good things beforehand but I didn't have a good experience. I received an early 2000s model Husqvarna from a relative that had spent several years in a shed. I brought it to Lyle's and asked them to look over the entire thing and do whatever needs to be done to get it going. The mower sat at their shop over a month. I didn't bug them, I know its old and parts need to be ordered which takes time. 3 1/2 weeks in I started calling, and on my 3rd attempt to check in, it was ready, but they needed to draft my invoice. I was told they would call me when they finished. Never called. Finally I get somebody on the phone the next day and head down there to get it. The employee couldn't hardly tell me what was done to it, but handed me the $400 invoice. Then the employee pushed my mower out of the building, and proceeded to walk back inside and shut the door, leaving me to load it up on my trailer myself. That's fine and all, I'm a grown man and can do it, but just doesn't seem like good business practice to me. Now for the best part, I take the mower home and don't even get half of my yard cut before it breaks again - just completely stops moving. The day I got it back. I take it back up to Lyle's where it sits for another two weeks. Then they call me trying to quote me on a new transmission that'll run me $800+ - for a mower that may be worth ~$500. So, clearly it's totaled. I am of the opinion that if the mower was inspected properly like I asked, surely (I would hope) a mechanic or professional in this field would be able to identify a potential problem with the transmission or the mower in general and would COMMUNICATE it with me. I wouldn't even be mad if they told me there was a possibility the transmission would go out. My issues arise from lack of communication and overall poor customer service. This is the kind of thing I expect from a chain shop not a family owned one.

I purchased a previously used Scag from Lyle's Power Equipment. I couldn't be happier with the mower, the service or the employees. I had to replace a belt right at closing one day and they accommodated me even though they were closing and I was 20 minutes away. They have won my business!
