My daughter and I were headed out of town today to go dress shopping when I decided to stop by Southern Glitz after finding it through a Google search.
I cannot say enough great things about this shop! I was prepared to pay over $200 elsewhere to rent her a dress. We found one here for that amount to purchase.
Ms.Pam who helped us was beyond helpful and very honest about her opinion of the dresses on my daughter. All of the employees were so sweet and complimenting, they made my daughter so comfortable and to truly feel like a princess!
We will never consider another dress shop.

Southern Glitz Formal Wear is absolutely my favorite place to go. For me it is worth the hour drive from Hattiesburg. As a highschooler finding a prom/event dress can be really hard, but the employees at southern glitz make it so easy. It is a COMFORTABLE and SAFE environment. Each girl is so kind and will make you feel your best. Out of every formal dress shop from the MS Gulf Coast to Jackson MS, this is the best. (I just purchased two dresses for my proms this year 2024 and the photo is from when I shopped last year 2023.)

This is our 2nd year to drive from Hattiesburg to get my daughter’s prom dresses. We love the personal service and great atmosphere here! They also have a great selection of dresses.

If you are a father that wants to dress shop with your daughter you may want to choose a different store! I help my daughter dress shop every year and she loves for me to be involved. We were greeted as we walked in the door and was ask about price range and color she wanted. As we walked to the rack to look at dresses I was ask to please go back to the front of the store because there are dressing rooms everywhere in the main area of the store. My wife could shop with her but not me. So how is a dad supposed to shop with his daughter at this store? The girl went through the rack and picked the dresses she thought my daughter would like. I'll never spend over 500 on a dress without even being able to look on the rack at all they have to offer. It also makes no sense to make me stay by the front door! Because If you see the lay out of the store you can still see every dressing room! It's one big room. Trust me when I say this is not a dad friendly store. I went to the truck and my wife let her try on a few but she couldn't get over me being ask to stay by the front door and wouldn't buy anything from them. Sad because we dealt with a lady last year that let me be very involved and we paid good money for dresses in the past there. Never again!! I was made to feel like a creepy guy just for walking into a store to shop with my daughter! Maybe it's time to change the lay out of the store if you don't want guys in the main shopping area due to the placement of your dressing rooms. ?

I came to this business 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close. The owner and her staff happily waved my daughter and I in. They took very good care of us. They allowed my daughter to try on several different dresses until we found the perfect one. The dresses there are absolutely beautiful. The staff is absolutely wonderful, and I will definitely be coming back for my future formal needs.

The ladies at this store are awesome and make you feel welcomed they go above and beyond to help you find exactly what you are looking for I have bought several dresses from them and will definitely be back I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wonderful experience and a beautiful dress

The staff was incredible. Helped my daughter find the dress she wanted. The staff was friendly and patient. Any questions we had were answered. Will be going back for all our dress needs.

The staff was wonderful tonight! I had already been to 4 other stores, and the sweet girls and Mrs. Pam were incredibly helpful while I was there! I bought a beautiful dress. They were SO kind and had a wonderful selection! I will be going there for all of my future formal dress needs!
