I will give one star purely because of how management handled the situation and took care of me after my experience. I went in for a balayage and cut with the stylist who has done my brows a few times. I thought I would give her a shot on my hair, sent her an inspo picture and we chatted BEFOREHAND about how I expected it to take a couple sessions because of a previous at home dye and because my hair is so dark. I made it very clear that my hair has warmer undertones and that cooler shades would need to be used. My appointment was at 4 PM and I was told to expect an hour and 45 to 2 hours. I didn’t leave the salon until after 9 PM! I finally realized when she FaceTimed her manager for help that it was beyond repair. I would’ve appreciated so much more if she just thought what I wanted was just not something she could do. Thankfully, I met with a color specialist today and albeit “one of the worst she’s ever seen” - it is fixable because of the health of my hair. I’ve been coloring my hair half of my life and have never experienced anything like this. The salon manager offered to comp me 50%, but after 5 hours and this outcome, I told the store manager I could not in good faith pay for this. I was in complete tears with wet hair in the middle of Ulta an hour after they closed. She totally understood, comped the whole visit and apologized profusely. I’m not using names because I definitely don’t want to ruin someone’s career because (hopefully) it was just a bad day and poor judgment. Just a warning to research your stylists if you choose to book here. Don’t make my mistake of people pleasing to the point of your hair looking like these pictures. Thank you again to the store manager for comforting me after a very traumatic experience.

Update: Would NOT recommend. I have had my extensions falling out for right around 4 weeks now. The week they were done I had to go get them touched up and I've had to visit EVERY WEEK since because they were done so horribly. I wasted almost 2,000 dollars on a Christmas present that has made me feel worse about my hair than I already did. Save yourself the money and trauma of waking up every morning with your hair falling out and go LITTERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!!They helped me every step of the way with getting extensions. They talked me through the different types and styles. They placed the order for the extensions after a quick consultation to color match and discuss my goals. I went a few weeks before I ordered and asked questions and they were AMAZING! There was no pressure to purchase anything that day and sent me home with some printouts and information about the different types of extensions they offer so I could determine which ones I wanted.

Terrible salon service (Octavia). First of all, she had a very bad attitude and acted put out for having to do my hair, despite her recruiting me a week prior to get my hair done by her. I wanted an all over color and trim, which we discussed when I made the appointment. When I got there, she didn't have my color, she kept disappearing despite having only one other client who was also just waiting for her to style her hair. I have very thick long hair and she only spent maybe 5 minutes cutting it and then hopped over to AN EMPLOYEE to give her a very detailed 6 inch plus hair cut. She didn't even trim my entire head, left an entire 6 inch chunk of hair completely unshaped, and not once did she hand me a mirror or ask if ANYTHING was ok.
At the end of the over three hour process (I can only assume it took that long because she legitimately forgot about me, considering three other employees worked on my hair while she was doing whatever else she wanted to do beside tending to her client) I looked in the mirror and said "wow, it looks like I didn't even get a haircut". She hopped right over and said "that's what you wanted right? Just a trim". At this point I could tell she was trying to antagonize me and so I said yes, and left.
I will absolutely not be going back, at least not to Octavia. The rest of the staff was nice, but she was extremely unprofessional, lazy, and rude...despite literally recruiting me for this haircut. Very disappointing.

I purchased cologne two days days ago for a birthday gift for my son. He did not want it so I brought it back to the store with the receipt and the credit card I purchased it with. They refused to give me my money back because I did not give them my phone number when it was purchased. The rude sales associate went to get the manager, Kayla, who told me the same thing. She said it is store policy and she does not even know how to return it without my phone number. Between the eye rolls of the sales associate and the condescending manager I lost my patience real fast. I did say that it was f..ing ridiculous to which she chided me like a child and told me that she would not put up with me cussing her. I said a cuss word I was not cussing her. I think that if someone was lying about store policy and trying to screw her out of $111, she would get a little heated as well. Not a good way to deal with customers as it would not have escalated to that level if she returned the item in accordance with the store policy that is written on the receipt. But I would like the refund that I’m entitled to per store policy. She was also kind enough to apologize to the people behind me in line on my behalf as if I had done something wrong. She should have apologized to me. Would never shop at Ulta again.
