The only reason to return to this hotel is location. The rooms are nice, but the doors need to be thicker. You can hear all noises in the hall and between floors making it difficult to sleep. The staff is extremely unhelpful and were not at the front desk to attend to questions like getting and iron and ironing board, which are not in the rooms. There was no cleaning service to our room over the weekend for some reason. Getting a cocktail proved close to impossible. I first went to get a drink while I got ready and was told I could not enter the bar as it was too busy for their bartender. At the end of the night, the staff made hotel guests wait 30 min to enter the bar space. It was a terrible experience and I was the guest of a friend who paid over $700 for the two nights. The hotel should have more staff if they are unable to serve the guests. Room service was very limited and there is no vending areas for snacks and water. I would not recommend this hotel.

The Oliver Hotel in Oxford, MS was a really nice boutique hotel that was very clean and had very hospitable staff at the front desk and In the restaurant. Amy and her colleague Keeley at the front desk took the courtesy to bring me a clean and fluffy blanket to my room. Downside: Not enough plugs outlets in room for computer/ipad/phones. Also, there is no space in bedroom to compete work and I get that. Just wish there were space in the hotel (not necessarily the suite/room) with outlets for computer so that I could work comfortably while there on business. This is not a deal breaker as I will still stay here when traveling for business. Bonus: The hotel also has a speakeasy that’s nice as well. When I come to Oxford, MS for business, I will be staying here.
Noteworthy details: The hotel has a “SpeakEasy.” Think Roaring Twenties kinda vibe.

I booked a month in advance for several different weekends at The Oliver Hotel. I have email confirmations of these reservations. They informed me when I was there for the first of these many weekends that they made a mistake and instead of the $149 rate my rate should have been $1,799. I asked, why should your mistake be my problem? They cancelled my reservations without further conversation. If I had one word to offer you about this hotel it would be this one - integrity. The Oliver Hotel does not have integrity. In a world where things and people are shapeshifting rapidly, look for the businesses and people that always offer integrity. For The Oliver Hotel, that ship has sailed.

Staying at the Oliver Hotel was an experience in of itself. The room was stunning, offering everything good, his and her sinks, beautifully decorated incorporating an updated look, and oh so clean. The bathroom was huge with a claw soaking tub coupled with a huge shower. Taylor, our receptionist checking us in was so welcoming and helpful, offering recommendations for dinner at a local restaurant that was spot on delicious. Parking onsite and breakfast was great, however, I wanted a change in my meal choice and was charged for two breakfast prices as I incorporated something from two different dishes. Seemed a little petty to me on their part. The drink I had at this restaurant at breakfast was the best cocktail drink of my whole trip. Order it. “Little Debbie and the Sunshine Kid”. My mouth is watering just thinking of it. Our waitress Jaylynn (I think) was very nice and attentive.
This hotel is perfectly situated and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting this darling town. I’d love to stay there again. Best hotel of out of our Mississippi trip.
Nearby activities: Shopping, restaurants, university
Food and drinks: Delicious

This place is not as nice as it used to be and appears. Under new management (Now called Oliver Place), the front desk staff is very personable and helpful. However, the bar staff is rude, and are unsure of their duties. I would recommend a stay here, but would absolutely not recommend getting a drink at the bar.Noteworthy details: The bar is horrendous. Bad staff, bad bartenders.

What a great hotel! We had a special request to not use obnoxious-smelling cleaners or fragrances, and the staff was happy to oblige! Our lovely room was thoroughly aired out when we arrived. The bathtub window was awesome! My wife and I enjoyed watching a movie while we took a hot bath together. We will definitely stay here again every time we visit Oxford.
