Great place. It is absolutely the best place I've been in Oxford. And reason being. The security guard names Charlotte makes this an awesome place. Make sure you meet her. And enjoy the ice skating rink.

Speaking as both a former vendor and regular customer, there is something so special about OXCM. Not only do I consistently leave with bags full of local produce, flowers, and baked goods that get me excited to go home and dream up new meals, but I never fail to leave feeling more connected to our community than I did when I got there. The vendors are all always so kind and friendly and the staff is welcoming and helpful. The market is truly the highlight of my week! Thank you for all of the hard work you put into it!

There was music, there were several vendors for veggies and produce, some prepared food and recipe ingredients, and a popsicle booth! I bought chard, cabbage, collards, radishes, romaine lettuce, fresh eggs, homemade noodles, pound cakes, and more. Next time i need to bring more bags.. maybe a wagon...

The Oxford Community Market is a great place for locally produced food! This is in my top 3 favourite places in Oxford. You know that your money is going straight to the producer and you also get to know where your food comes from.As I write this, we are in the Covid social distancing period, and the market has set up great precautions to protect vendors and customers alike. For those who don't want to shop at the market itself, there are options to pre-purchase bags of produce for curbside pickup. (I believe the ordering cutoff is the Saturday before the market, so you have to plan ahead for this.)The market meets Tuesdays, from 3 to 6ish during the "warm" season (April to Decemberish) and noon to 3 in Jan-March. Many great local farms bring their amazing produce to sell. I've had the best watermelons of my life from this market, as well as some of the best strawberries. I really like the duck eggs from Bottle Tree farm. Fresh Gulf shrimp (never frozen!) are a good price (and the vendor occasionally has oysters and other seafood). Okra, peppers, herbs, tomatoes... I can go on and on about the delights of this market! There's a Guy Clark song, "homegrown tomatoes".... "only two things money can't buy, that's true love and homegrown tomatoes". This market gets pretty darn close.A number of vendors bring things other than vegetables too. There are a number of delicious and unusual jellies, jams, pastas, baked goods and sauces available. You can get plants ready to transplant, herbs, mushrooms, seeds and sewn things -- I got my cloth mask from a vendor at the market.Lately, Whiskey Ranch Beef has been coming every second week (I believe 1st and 3rd of the month, but check with them first). They have a selection of beef from a refrigerated truck. A few vendors have food that is ready to eat. Pre-Covid, and hopefully again, post-covid, there were vendors with popsicles, ice cream and macarons (!!). At present, the only vendor with ready to eat food is Egyptian Delights, with excellent pita and dips. Go early if you want a good selection. It gets pretty dead around 6, and many vendors sneak out as early as 5:30. If you are price conscious, you can sometimes get discounts at closing time, but not always.
