The Carousel Horse Tours are awfully put together... This website needs major updates. There are horses on here that no longer exist. The tour is out of order and takes you in a bunch of circles and there are horses in places not listed on the tours.....

Lived there for 10 years. Graduated from the MSU branch. Played with the same band nearly the whole time. Night Moves with a great female singer. I'm pretty sure she kept us working most weekends. I can remember the Red Hot Truck Stop after a gig about 2 in the morning. I will never forget pouring sugar in my coffee and seeing a smashed fly stuck to the bottom of the dispenser. Yep those were the days.

I wish YELP had a catagory for Sights to See or Local Attractions. I travel a lot and try to find local flavor, or "what sets this town apart from any other." Meridian has the fantastic Dentzel Carousel, and the "Horses Abound Around Town" which are artist-decorated carousel horses which were scattered around town as a fundraising venture for "Hope Village" for children. Tracking down the carousel horses has made for a fantastic adventure. So far I have found about 30 of them. This adventure has started a trend for me. Now I look for this same type of art project in all of the towns I travel to. Here are the Carousel Horses, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi they have Swans, and in Biloxi there are the "dead tree" sculptures. In Mississippi I have found: Madison - Carousel Horses Hattiesburg - Swans Biloxi - tree sculptures In Texas I have found: Amarillo - Quarter Horses Wichita Falls - Mustangs Austin - Guitars Abilene - Artist's Sculptures Corpus Christi - Dolphins
