In the charming town of Laurel, there’s a treasure trove of sweetness known to locals and visitors alike as Shug’s. This isn’t just any candy store; it’s a place where each piece of candy is a story, a memory, a delight waiting to be discovered.
At Shug’s, the fudge is not merely a confection; it’s a masterpiece. Each square is a testament to the art of candy-making, a blend of tradition and innovation that melts in your mouth with a richness that speaks of pure, unadulterated joy. The chocolate fudge, smooth and luscious, is a dance of cocoa and cream on the palate, a flavor so divine it could only be the work of dedicated artisans.
This fudge, it’s not just good—it’s exceptional. It’s the kind of treat that you savor slowly, letting the chocolatey goodness linger, reminding you of simpler times and the pure happiness that comes from a piece of well-crafted candy.
So here’s to Shug’s, a five-star establishment where the fudge isn’t just made—it’s lovingly created with a passion that you can taste in every bite. It’s a place where each visit is a documentary-worthy experience, and the fudge is the star of the show. In Laurel, Mississippi, Shug’s stands as a beacon of sweetness, a reminder that in this fast-paced world, there are still places where time slows down, just long enough for you to take a bite and remember what true craftsmanship tastes like.

Very disappointed. Based on the price we paid, we expected high-quality. Unfortunately we had old leftover cookies, brownie, and ice cream with freezer burn. You could probably get better ice cream at the local Dairy Queen and a little Debbie cake would be fresher.

Look. It's delicious cookie dough, rolled into balls the size of a baby's fist and shoved into mouth. It's incredible.

This place is listed as a bakery on Google and it is not a bakery. I was hoping to take a box of sweets home to my family but this is a misleading description of this store because they offer no such thing. They have ice cream by the scoop and your run-of-the-mill candy. Gummi bears, etc sold by the ounce, I believe, and it's just plain old candy that you can find at Dollar General. Bought 2 over-priced, average tasting, lackluster truffles for 2.25 a piece. Also bought a macaron for 1.75, the sweets at this store are over-priced, boring and under flavored. Not a lot of variety for a candy store or bakery. Left much to be desired. It's nice to go and step inside to take a peek but not at all worth the prices. I was disappointed. Came to Laurel for work and had heard of this candy store, only had time to make one stop before I left town and this was it but it didn't live up to the hype.
