We recently had the most amazing experience at the Old Capitol Inn, where we are planning to have our wedding. From start to finish, everything has been seamless, thanks to Bruce, who has truly been a godsend. He went above and beyond to ensure that every detail was perfect. Whether it was helping with the décor, logistics, or answering our endless questions, Bruce was always there with a smile and a solution. The venue itself is beautiful, but the service makes it exceptional. Highly recommend the Old Capitol Inn for any event, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Bruce assisting!”
“The Dixie National Rodeo is a one of a kind experience..its just a great place to bring your family to and the entertainment was great...loved everything about it..we will keep going every year...”
“I have been a Mississippi wedding photographer for 10 years, & The Reed House at Live Oaks has quickly become one of my favorite wedding venues! The cottage is the perfect "getting ready" space, the ceremony site under the oak trees is stunning, & the indoor reception hall is spacious & beautiful. This venue is located only 10 minutes outside of Jackson. It is the perfect backdrop for gorgeous wedding photos!”
“We had the pleasure of hosting our daughter’s wedding reception at the breathtaking Plant Venue and we couldn't be more thrilled with our choice. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were captivated by its natural beauty and timeless charm.
The venue is nestled amidst the industrial park in the Fondren area of Jackson, creating a classic yet unique atmosphere. The enchanting atrium added a touch of magic to the moment we arrived. And the well-maintained foliage and open-air courtyard provided a picturesque backdrop for the reception as Brooklyn & Brandon danced the night away under the disco balls and stars to the smooth sounds of the Compoztionz band. The guests couldn't stop raving about the stunning views and how seamlessly the natural surroundings blended with the joyous occasion.
The staff at The Plant were an absolute delight to work with. From the initial planning stages to the day of coordination, they were professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our wedding day perfect. Special thanks to the event coordinator, Coretta, who went above and beyond to ensure every detail was executed flawlessly. Her expertise and calming presence were invaluable throughout the entire process.
The indoor atrium space exuded warmth and sophistication. With its high ceilings, draping plants, and elegant decor set the stage for an unforgettable celebration. The catering team, Donna’s Catering, from Brookhaven surpassed our expectations with a menu that combined culinary excellence with creative flair. And the sleek and elegant bride’s cake, adorned with calla lilies, was executed perfectly by Ellen Baxter of Ellen’s Cookies. And its flavor is still unmatched…. The groom’s mother created the perfect combination of his favorite things for the groom’s cake, complete with an actual life-size burger made from cake to play homage to his childhood nickname “Burger”. Our guests are still talking about the delicious food and the impeccable service.
What sets The Plant apart is not just its physical beauty but the attention to detail and the personalized touch that the staff brings to every event. They truly understand the significance of weddings and go the extra mile to create a memorable experience for the couple and their guests.
In conclusion, if you're seeking a wedding and/or reception venue that seamlessly blends natural beauty, elegance, and exceptional service, The Plant is the perfect choice. Brooklyn & Brandon’s wedding day was a dream come true, thanks to this enchanting venue and its dedicated team. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to create lasting memories in a setting that is nothing short of magical. Thanks again to Coretta, Travis, Ansley and the entire Plant family for making my little girls dreams come true.

“This is probably the coolest little guitar store in Mississippi! Good selection of equipment for working musicians. No junk on the racks. Patric and the staff are super easy to get along with. In 2007 I had a Schecter FR tremolo guitar set up here, and it still hasnt gone outta tune !! Pure magic ! Go see 'Em!”
“Great venue. Parking isn't the best, but it's downtown what do you expect? Rooftop is a nice atmosphere. Glad to see something like this in Jackson I think it's a good thing for downtown Jackson.”

407 S Congress St, Jackson“Great hotel with friendly staff. Nice clean rooms. Downside: parking. The entire large lot across from the hotel is Valet only. Was nicely advised that I can park on the street “at your own risk” and that they start ticketing around 0830. So, parking is inconvenient for guests not choosing valet.”
“Our Granddaughter had her wedding reception at the Rickhouse nice venue. The chicken skewers were a little dry and chewy, spring rolls spicy everyone at our table enjoyed them. EXCELLENT Mac and cheese , the pimento cheese dip very very hot. Best of all was the spinach dip. The ladies at the cash bar were very sweet and on the ball with clearing tables and serving”

Yes the stairway could smell nicer and yes their are some spots that could be cleaner but I would still recommend to anyone on a budget or just not wanting to spend a lot. Definitely not as bad as the reviews I’ve seen.”

Not to mention the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! On the morning we were meant to check out, my youngest female cat (who weighs maybe 7 pounds) went missing. We spent about three hours searching for her before finding her wedged in a dead space between the kitchen cabinets and dishwasher in our room. Cats, am I right? Although the experience was distressing, the hotel's staff stopped what they were doing and came together to help my friend and me search for my cat. We were so grateful for their generosity and time that we had them write their names down so we could include them in the review. Gwen from laundry, Tamara the supervisor, and Shawana from housekeeping were the three main women who aided us. Thank you ladies SO much. The man at the front desk whose name I can't remember for the life of me was also awesome. Plus the maintenance man who helped get my cat out from the crawl space! Just an altogether amazing team of people working at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Jackson. Much appreciated.”

310 Greymont St, Jackson“My husband and I spent a night recently, and had a pleasant experience. The property was clean, including the room. The bed was comfortable. I liked the Dove brand they used for the toiletries (they had the regular sized containers instead of the individual minis. The containers were locked, but allows you to pump/dispense as needed). The breakfast was okay; everything was low when we got there, but it was an hour and a half before breakfast ended, so I'm assuming (hoping) things were replenished shortly after we grabbed our plate and headed to our room.
No complaints. Would definitely stay again.”
“First time visitor. Get there early if you want a seat. Be prepared if you are close to stage there may be people dancing in front of you. Really enjoyed seeing Drake Milligan and that he also signed autographs and made photos with fans.”
