Absolutely terrible customer service. When pulling in there is a sign that says do not block bay but no directions on where to go. There is an open lot next door with another business there and a parking banner but no sign indicating that this lot is for Allen's Inspection. So I inch up towards the entrance just to kindly ask the attendant what I should do and where I should park. As he is walking towards my car he throws up his hands and is cursing me out 15 feet from the car. When I roll down my window just to ask for instructions, he gets pissed off and tells me 98% of people can figure it out. Needless to say, I turned around and left immediately! I drove one mile down the road to Don Rucker Tire and Automotive and they were very professional and helpful. Got my vehicle inspected within minutes. Do not support Allen's Inspection. Terrible experience!

Sadly, this Alan's location has permanently closed, which is a bummer because they were so great. Looks like they moved the shop outside of town. If you're looking for a similar vibe nearby, try Terry's on Burnet or Mario's off Goodwin and Airport.

Had been going here for many, many years. Drove up today and they're closed; a hand drawn sign saying "Floyd's Auto Sales" or something like that on the garage door.

The man is the most rude condescending a**H****. Pulled up and he's yelling at me about where to park, which it's not clearly marked. Parked where he rudely yelled at me to, then he came over and continued to harass me about where I parked (which was where I was directed). When it was my turn he couldn't stop making rude comments about other peoples cars. I couldn't fine my proof of insurance, that was my fault, so I pulled into an empty parking lot a few trailers down and then he came walking over to yell at me some more about how he's trying to "run a business". Mind you I was not even at his place of business anymore. Needless to say I decided it was best to take my business else where and left. This place is a joke and the man working there is a vile human!

I went here because my usual place was slammed, and I had been lazy about getting my inspection done for this year. Parked I. the on-site lot and waited about 20 minutes with 6 cars in front of me. They called me up, I was able to show them my insurance on my phone, and they took my car for a test drive. Unfortunately, when they came back they said my tint was illegal, too dark, and they could not pass my car without removing it. I have lived here for three years and my tint has never been an issue. It was dealer installed when I bought the car back in Florida, but I guess maybe Texas has different requirements and this is something new? Thankfully the staff was very understanding and offered to either remove it for $30, or not charge me. I opted to keep it since I am moving back to Florida soon and will just go to my regular spot when they have some availability. Can't blame the business though, they're just doing their job and would have been well within their rights to charge me. Alan's is fast and efficient, but if you have tinted windows, you are better off going elsewhere.

Great service. Very fast. Less than $20. Be advised the waiting area is outside and there is shade and a fan over the picnic tables. Will definitely be back!

I recently went in and tried to get my car inspection. I pulled in and he was looking at my car and told me to park. Windows are up the whole time. I parked. He then told me he has to take my car out for a drive to make sure everything was fine. He came back and told me I was unable to pass because of the tiny that on my window. When I got into my car on the driver side he left dirt on my suede seat. If u saw the car and knew it wasn't going to be able to pass the inspection because of the tint , Why ask to still drive it? Why have me in the heat if ur wasting my time? I could've went to a better place while u was out driving my srt ! SMH

We just moved here from Virginia and needed inspections before getting tags. Brought both cars. They were quick and thorough. One of the cars, needed a couple lights fixed. Prices were reasonable. Tho they had a line, they were quick and painless. Definitely will return.

14 minutes from pulling in to pulling out, and that includes payment. These guys are fast & friendly and got the job done as quick as anybody. I don't live near here but I'll try to remember next year that this place crushed the place by my house.

Alan's Vehicle Inspections is my preferred shop for getting my State Inspections done. If you have your most up to date copy of your car insurance and Driver's license, sign in on the sheet. The process is usually pretty quick. I've never had a problem with the staff.

I moved to Texas late last year and really put off the whole moving my registration to TX process for a while. Finally, I bit the bullet and figured out what needed to be done. Based on the reviews I came here for my inspection, and it was so quick and easy. They were also nice, which I appreciated. The whole process was seamless. Can't recommend enough.

I. LOVE. ALAN'S. In all my years of Yelp, I've never been happier to review a business. I've been to Alan's for about a decade now and I have recommended them to all my friends, but I've never thought to write a review...so here it is. The wait: Depending in the time you go and the day, there might be a wait, but no matter how busy it is, you can get in and out in under an hour. Once your car is up, it literally takes about 10 minutes. Why they earned my love and loyalty: -no bells and whistles and just straight forward inspection with a flat rate. Don't expect a free car wash or anything if the sort, but that's why it's such a short wait. -they quickly get things approved and by the time I get home, I'm able to order my sticker online -if you fail the inspection, they don't charge you a second time when you come back Looking for Austin's quickest and cheapest inspection place? Go to Alan's.

I must admit I wasn't going to stop because the place looked sketch but they were friendly, professional and I was able to get in and get out in no time.

Always fast. Always reliable. I'm usually done in under 30 minutes. Had a new part installed and failed my test. Rep told me to drive for 17-20 miles and my car would pass. Told me to bring my paperwork back, skip the wait, and they would retry. Came back, they drove my car immediately, I passed. Wish they wore masks more.
