I attended a rehearsal dinner on March 1. The venue was beautiful and the support staff were kind and helpful. However, the food was a huge disappointment. My husband and I ordered the filet, it was not only raw but so tough it couldn’t be cut. We sent one back to be cooked more, and the return was just as bad. It was completely raw in the middle. Others at my table experienced the same thing, the majority of our meals were untouched. The fish had bones and scales.
Very disappointing considering their reputation, the Very expensive cost, and event expectations.

I attended a rehearsal dinner on March 1. The venue itself was lovely, and the support staff were kind and helpful. However, the food was a huge disappointment. I ordered the filet and could not eat it - in fact, I could barely cut it. It was completely raw in the middle. Others at my table experienced the same thing. The fish had bones and scales, and one poor woman even swallowed a bone.
I also understand that The Manship managerial staff/owner were neither responsive nor apologetic regarding the hosts’ concerns. Very disappointing considering their reputation. The Manship is a wonderful restaurant, but our VERY expensive meal was quite a disappointment.

We attended a rehearsal dinner on March 2, at Rickhouse by Manship. Since my daughter and son-in-law were hosts, I knew the price of each dinner. Unfortunately the high cost did not result in high quality food. There was a choice of three entree items for the dinner. I chose the redfish. My first bite had bones in it and then I realized that the scales were also on the fish and in the mashed potatoes upon which the fish was placed. The people at my table who had ordered the filet could not cut it due to the toughness of the meat. It was undercooked and cold in the middle. Many at the dinner had the same complaints. There was not enough of the dessert ordered for everyone, so a substitute had to be made for some of the guests. All in all, what should have been a lovely celebration was a great disappointment.

My husband and I hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at the Rickhouse on 3/1/24. I gave 2 stars because the event space is beautiful and perfect for such an event and the staff were kind and courteous. But, that is where the good ends. Our tables didn't even have water for each guest and after everyone was seated we realized that every person had to get up and go make their own water or tea at the back of the room. Unacceptable for a plated dinner at $75/person. The food was horrible!!! We offered pork chops, beef filet, or grilled redfish. The 3 people that had the pork chops said they were delicious. Most of the people that had the beef filet (myself included) could not eat much of it because it was so tough and filled with gristle and sinew. I honestly cannot fathom that the cut of beef we were served was actually filet, since it is usually fork tender and this couldn't even be cut well with a knife. Many with the filets had to send them back because they were raw and then they returned to the table still raw. The redfish was delicious, but FULL of bones and the scales were left on the fish! One of my relatives choked on a bone while dining. Since the fish was served over mashed potatoes, the people with fish could not eat those either since the potatoes were full of fish scales. Disgusting!! The venue also ran out of the dessert and served the back of the room what appeared to be Sams Club plain cheesecake without any topping. This I truly don't understand since they had final numbers 2 weeks before the event. This was not food I expected from a venue that boasts a James Beard nominated chef. In fact, this was not food I would have expected from a low end steakhouse. The owner did offer a discount and I appreciate that since it helps be not be out so much money for inedible food. He says he will be making operational changes to avoid this in the future, but that is still a risky gamble. I am still out thousands of dollars for a meal where most of my guests left hungry. I hope this review will help others decide on whether they want to try this establishment.

My nephew’s rehearsal dinner was on March 1. The venue was lovely and the service was excellent but the food was very disappointing. The choices were filet, redfish or pork chop. The 3 people who had pork chops enjoyed their meal. Most of the filets were inedible- almost raw and hard to cut or chew. One guest said he’s had better meat from Walmart. Some people sent theirs back but they were still inedible when brought back out 20 minutes later. The redfish had a good taste but contained A LOT of bones and had scales. Fish being served on top of potatoes should be completely descaled as the scales were mixed into the other food. I don’t normally post reviews but for thousands of dollars, this was hard to swallow. Literally.

Our Granddaughter had her wedding reception at the Rickhouse nice venue. The chicken skewers were a little dry and chewy, spring rolls spicy everyone at our table enjoyed them. EXCELLENT Mac and cheese , the pimento cheese dip very very hot. Best of all was the spinach dip. The ladies at the cash bar were very sweet and on the ball with clearing tables and serving

We hosted my sons rehearsal dinner here. Ebony is amazing in every way and the food was outstanding. There are not enough praises I can share to adequately describe this venue, food and staff!
