This is a good place to find a diverse selection of fresh produce, dry goods shopping, and other dishes. It is an open environment with lots to choose from. I love that here is an opportunity to immerse oneself in foods not common to the typical American diet. So far everything that I have purchased here is good.

It's a nice place. They have done some remodeling and have expanded their culinary sections, so it's bigger than it was before. The only thing negative about this is that I don't speak the language, and it can be confusing trying to figure out what the names of some of the products are.

Mr. Chens restaurant is open, you can only order takeout, however you can dine in and clean up. One of the best asian grocery stores in Jackson, MS. Produce section is usually well stocked. Frequent produce surprises like longon, lychee, and rambutan. Seafood and meat section usually busy with fun choices and surprises. Great rice choices including Nishiki and Tamaki. Plenty of parking.

Love everything about this store/restaurant! If you haven't tried their restaurant, you're missing out! Every single time I've eaten here it's been the best! Flavorful. Fresh. Large portions. Truly the best! Grocery side, I find everything I need for the various dishes we make. We live a variety of Asian dishes (Korean, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese) I can't think of an ingredient to a dish we've needed that I couldn't find here.

I absolutely love this place and the offerings they have, but it is so lovely to see how they have grown with their recent renovations. I used to live in Atlanta and was very spoiled by the Buford Highway Farmer's Market while I lived there. It's been a moment since I last visited this Market, but when I did this past weekend it instantly remind me of the ones I went to in Atlanta!

Awesome everything! Love it more since they added on. Bigger and better. Try the roasted duck or the cumin lamb. Oysters and crab claws are good too.

I was very, very impressed with the store except for an experience with who I believed to be their loss control. Which I will get to later. The store was well stocked, and it was bustling with customers. They do very brisk business. There was remodeling going on and unfortunately the restaurant was closed as it was filled with construction people. I absolutely loved their selection of produce, fish, poultry, beef and pork, and everything else. This place had many very authentic, difficult to find, items in their store. They had a large selection of products that simply are not carried in any other store anywhere else in Jackson. I was quite surprised to see much of the selection and it reminded me of the international farmers market outside of Atlanta, GA. However, although their selection was limited to Asian grocer items their selection was still very unique. They even had quail eggs. They have many items packed close together so you will spend a while browsing a single aisle as the selection is quite large. Everything appeared fresh. Although I did notice the majority of packaged products had labels that stated "California warning - THIS PACKAGING IS KNOWN TO CAUSE CANCER" or something similar. I saw that on so many items I couldn't understand why the suppliers just wouldn't use different packaging. I came to this store to buy Mochi Rice cakes which I believed their restaurant also cooks. However with the restaurant being out of commission due to the remodel I purchased the mochi but they were elongated and not in the customary square flat shape. I also took the opportunity to purchase fresh ginger and to my surprise the ginger here was much fresher than the ginger at the fancy Kroger in Madison, MS. I also purchased red bean paste mochi pastries, ramen, green tea, and some sort of drink I've never had before filled with collagen. I loved my experience in the store with the exception of a man pushing a buggy talking on his cellphone who followed me around the store. He was right at my back. At the time I was in the store I was the only black person in there (other than the guy) and he did not let up off of me. Everytime I would turn to look at him he appeared to be on his phone with one time he was starting directly at me. It was a hard fixated stare. He was a young African American man. Probably in his mid to late 20s. He was dressed business casual. Pushing a buggy the entire time. But he did not seem to be actively shopping. And again.. he stayed at my back the entire time. Every aisle I went on. He was there. When I would stop to look at merchandise. He stopped as well. He was very, very noticeable. I figured he was their loss control guy and I kept noticing him but I was so engaged in their merchandise I just didn't really focus on him. My items came up to around $21 dollars and some change and I thought that was so awesome. That was a very good price. In all I will be returning. Even with the aggressive loss control. It's unfortunate I was singled out. Being that I was the only black customer in the store at the time and he decided to follow me to the extent he did. Making it apparent he was monitoring me. I find that so unfortunate and silly. It's very 1930 - ish. And to think he, as a black man, wouldn't know better. There are many places he could go where he would be treated the same. If not worse. All because he's a black male. So one would think he would understand and not target me because I share the same skin as himself. If he thinks all blacks steal, what does he think of himself?

Mr. Chen's is always fun to go through. Many items bring back memories from living in Asia.
