Most of the reviews are good, but this one will not be because my experience at this salon was very disappointing. When I first discovered this salon, I was happy because I finally found a place for black hair. However when I attempted to get service there, it did not go well. I had trouble with scheduling twice because their system is truly unprofessional. Awhile back I tried to make an appointment to have some butterfly locs done, and this was before they had went online for appointment scheduling and a person was on the phone writing names down, I attempted to make an appointment for butterfly locs and the person claimed to have wrote my name down, but it turned out that they didn't and I didn't find out until I was trying to come on the day I was supposed to be scheduled to come on and was informed that I couldn't be seen because the appointment was never wrote down. I was supposed to see this lady named Elizabeth but it never happened. The second incident I endured was with Ms. Melody Washington. I called her the other day to ask how much they charge for hair dye and she told me that it basically depends on the hair period, and that I would have to make an appointment online, so I made the appointment online and then called the shop again to confirm that she saw the appointment on her end. She informed me that she couldn't see it at the moment because she dropped her phone in water but it should be in the book. She told me that I can just come on the day and time I scheduled the appointment on and she'll be there. So I came on the day I scheduled the appointment which was yesterday and I scheduled the time to be 10 am and it turns out she had another woman in her chair, dyeing her hair at that very time she was supposed to be seeing me. I showed her my appointment and she told me that it would take awhile for her to finish the other lady's hair. I asked her could she at least do my hair later that day but she told me no and that I will have to reschedule sometime this coming week. I asked her could I come Tuesday and she informed me that she had other clients for Tuesday but she will call me after she was done with that lady who was in the chair at the time. It turns out that she never did call me. Just very unprofessional and neglecting! A lot of people have great things to say about this salon, but I truly think otherwise.

Melody is the owner of Natural U Hair Salon. She has years of experience and tons of knowledge about the services she provides. She goes out of her way to make sure clients are treated respectfully and properly taken care of. Finding a stylist of her caliber is difficult, and that's why I've been a faithful client for over 10 years. ❤️

I have been going to Natural U for several years. Melody has been my loctician from Day 1. When you sit in her chair, it is not just a service but an experience‼️ She is knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and has a deep passion for what she does. It's a very positive atmosphere and basically just a vibe in every way. She has mastered her craft. Once you visit Natural U, you most definitely have found your hair care home in more ways than one‼️

I would highly recommend visiting Natural U. Melody is an amazing stylist, owner, and hair guru! She has been taking care of my hair for more than 10 years and she hasn’t disappointed me yet. Melody is knowledgeable about all things natural hair and can style your hair in any style that you prefer. Melody is also very friendly, personable, and a joy to be around. Change is constant but Melody is the one person that I can count on to take care of hair through any change in life!

My daughter has been going to Melody at Natural U Salon for over a year now, and I cannot express how grateful I am for her exceptional care and professionalism. When my daughter first started going to Melody, she was scared and would cry from the moment she sat in the chair until Melody finished. Not once did Melody give up or say she couldn't do her hair anymore. Instead, she reassured me that things would get better and that my daughter was in good hands.
Melody's patience and understanding were truly remarkable. She handled each appointment with professionalism and kindness, never making us feel like a burden. She consistently reassured us that my daughter would become more comfortable over time. And she was right.

I give this place 5 star I came in a week ago too get a silk press.just moving to Jackson Ms.i had been looking for someone who specializes in natural hair. While searching I stumbled upon this gem.i thought my hair was damaged. But it wasn't I just needed a good wash and condition. When i tell you she put the S in SILK press It turned out beautiful. I most definitely recommend and I will most definitely come back .
