The staff was great. Picking up the car and dropping off the car was easy. However, the car was terrible. For the rate, we got an older Hyundai Elantra with body damage and a discolored hood. I don't remember the last time I had to manually adjust my seat. This car was very basic and not in great condition. I just did not have time to fight for a new car. I was in town to handle some business and on a tight schedule. Honestly, they should be ashamed to have that car in their lot. It was bad. The staff was great, for what it's worth.

The Budget Car Rental counter at the Jackson airport is not staffed with enough people to handle the flux of customers when a flight comes in. One service representative took more than one hour to process seven people who had reserved cars with Budget prior to flying into Jackson. The computer system seems to be very slow, as well. The service representative never apologized or explained why it took so long to issue the paperwork and keys for the reserved cars. On return, the Budget representative in the garage did not have a check-in device, nor did he look at mileage, fuel tank level, etc. When I received the final receipt, it was more than $20 over the amount I had agreed to on the reservation.If you are a Budget Fast Break customer, you will probably be okay, because you can skip this counter fiasco. If you rented from Budget because they had the best price on a comparison app or because Southwest Airlines directed you to Budget as part of your trip plan, don't do it. Rent from Enterprise. Their line moved quickly and efficiently to get customers to their cars.

The car that I reserved was not available. I was able to get an electric vehicle and was told to call back the next day. To date, I was never able to reach anyone at the Jackson MS location. Finally after returning the vehicle, I received a letter stating I never returned the car three weeks later. I called the 800 number many times with no resolution for a month.

The employees i encountered at the Budget Medgar Evers airport were both very good , I would rate them as 10. On Oct 8 I was driving and low tire pressure alarms lit for all four tires, pressure around 25-27 psi, so I found a station paid my dollar and got air. On Oct 12 while driving to Duncan a low oil alert appeared on the dash, this while driving on Hiway 61, so I slowed down to the 40-45 mph range and observed the engine temp light remained NORMAL, so I bypassed my turn off to Duncan and drove another 5-8 miles to Alex's Shelby Truck stop, I shut the engine off waited 5 minutes checked the oil level. it was low so I added a quart of 0-20 pennzoil, waited another 5 minutes, checked the oil still low added a second quart, waited 5 minutes it was ok, two quarts at $9.62 quart, a half gallon low. the next day I googled how to turn the low oil light off, the vehicle was not provided with an operators manual. L:astly, I had reserved a pich up truck however there was no pick up truck so i was provided a Chrysler that obviously needed some attention before renting it out to me on Oct 3. after paying over $1300 for this experience I feel like I was working free for Budget Rental car, not what I had signed up for.

I’ve had good experiences at budget with the exception of this location. I received a 2023 Chevy Malibu that did not appear to have been maintained at all. The car had a light cigarette stench in it, had an oil life at 14%, and tires were not well maintained. The right front tire blew out while I was driving in the middle of nowhere at night. Thankfully, some good samaritans helped me replace the tire with a spare part. I also had an awful experience with Budget’s Emergency roadside assistance and customer service, which is another story… basically I was instructed to get the tire replaced and I would get reimbursed. Now customer service is stating they cannot reimburse and I am currently working on getting this sorted out… but that is irrelevant for this specific location. I’m just frustrated with this experience.This overall experience has made me consider spending more money on different rental companies in hopes of getting better service. Please be careful in the road if you rent from this place!!

The thief at the inside counter charged me for Fuel but I returned it Full, marked "Full" on the paper, and took a picture of the Full fuel gauge while the outside agent eas watching me. This is the only Budget on Earth where I am forced to write the mileage, check the boxes, and hand the "contract" back to the desk dude. No other rental location in the US or internationally does this. I have rented cars in New Zealand, Latin America, Alaska, Hawaii, etc. this year, all with better car rental experiences.This corrupt employee told the previous renter that he creates fake email addresses to give himself 5-star reviews.As a Rapid Rez member, I have called the national elite number, filed a complaint online and will persist until my stolen money is returned.Every car was previously rented by a chain smoker. I rented a car last week here with Budget and it also stank of cigarettes. Budget should charge smokers the full replacement cost of the car.

Horrible experience at Jackson Airport arrived at 7pm and told they have no cars. Told come back tomorrow and try again luckily random car got returned 2hrs later and my name was top of the list of all the people stranded with no rental car so I got it. But it was a total failure on budget part did not honor anyone's reservations. The car was dirty but I was just glad I had a way out the airport at that point. One of the desk ladies of the three employees working was helpful and kept me informed until she found a car for me while I tried to figure what to do stranded with no car in the middle of the south.

I should have read these reviews before I booked. I arrived at 9pm and was told no cars available even with the rental fees fully paid. The agent coldly said that there is no car, and I have to come back at 6 am tomorrow morning. And there is no guarantee that I'm going to get a car. I don't want to leave a bad comment about the agent, as there is nothing he can do. But Budget should be doing something on their reservation system as I'm not the only one, and it seems to be happening quite often as written by other reviewers.Update: I took a chance and went back the next morning, and got a car right away. And the supervisor gave a credit back for the round trip Uber fee I paid. Staffs were responsive and good. I changed my rating from 1 to 4.

Worst experience ever with this location and I’m a loyal budget customer!! Had to wait over an hour when I got there and then they tried to give me a car someone had just returned due to mechanical issues, only to be put in an unclean, smoke smelling vehicle. Their only response was “that’s the only vehicle we have in that upgrade class” and to get back in line for another hour when I had to be at an event in the next hour. Now I have been calling nonstop because I returned the vehicle prior to my flight departure 2 days ago and according to customer service the vehicle rental agreement hasn’t been closed out and they still have a hold on my credit card. I WILL NEVER RENT FROM THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN WHEN I FLY INTO JACKSON AND I FLY INTO JACKSON AT LEAST 1-2 times a month!!! They never answer the phone or call you back!!!

The car wasnt cleaned out from the past renter/s. It had a stench, we had to buy sprays and car plugs and the last person/s left a debit card on the floor of back seat which I turned in. Oil change light came on and tire pressure check light as well. Good truck just wish it was cleaned and basic maintainance checked before I rented it.

Horrible experience. Van that I prepaid for was NOT available at the original location. After an 8 hour delay and two transfers to other locations I finally got a dirty van that was 2,200 miles past due for maintenance at the original location. If that wasn't bad enough, Budget charged ME for the transfers and more than doubled the original price of the van. After two phone calls and five emails they refunded 50% of the overcharge. I still had to pay more than $400 over the ORIGINAL price. I would never recommend Budget to anyone...

I appreciated that fast and friendly service at Budget car rental at the Jackson-Medgar Evers airport. Another online reservation service had canceled my reservation, Budget came through with a very comfortable car.

Always the absolute best and most affordable option when it comes to renting a car. They’re always clean and well maintained. The staff is always the most helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and polite to their customers! I will always use Avis/Budget for my car rental needs!

When we arrived at the counter to pick up our rental we were informed that there were no cars available. I explained that we had a reservation and we were informed that a reservation doesn't guarantee a car. The gentleman then shared that if we waited we could have a vehicle in an hour or 2. We agreed to wait and received a vehicle within the hour. The return process was smooth. The gentleman in the garage was helpful and knowledgeable.

Checking in to pick up the car was a little long due to issues with customers having issues with using Debit Cards. Guidelines for using Debit Cards vs Credit Cards should be made very clear, in bold or red before people traveling (out of state) with a reserved car.
