The owner at the desk was so welcoming and kind!
I left with some pens and a sticker for my bumper! Lots of non-art materials in there, so worth stopping by even if you aren't necessarily an artist. The prices are fair, not high. The pens I bought all work perfectly well, and when checking out the person at the counter tested each and every pen before bagging. They have my utmost trust and regard!

They’re fantastic and friendly! They’re operating on a by appointment system right now but offer many incentives for booking an appointment to shop. They’ve worked hard on their site and it shows! Shop online and you’ll get a taste as to why booking an appointment is worth it!

The owners will hands down bend over backwards to help you round up everything you need or that special gift. They're on modified in-store services due to the pandemic but that doesn't stop them from doing what they do best! I love this shop and it's keepers! Go see them!

Drove all the way down here in pouring rain only to find they only allow shopping by appointment? Woman came to the door and told me I could shop online. Yes, I can shop online and pay 1/3 your prices but I wanted to do business locally and actually see what they had in person. I won’t jump through hoops to pay someone 3 times what other online retailers are charging. No wonder local Fondren businesses are failing of this is how they operate.

Excellent products, excellent service! There are two things I love the most about Beacon: 1) I discover items I love that I would never have heard of otherwise and 2) All the thought that goes into their curation, including their attention to social justice and destigmatization of mental health and neurodivergence.

My review is for the Beacon online shop and customer service, which was outstanding. There are lots of cool finds in their online listings, and they carried a particular item I couldn't get closer to my home in New York City. When one of the items I ordered broke in transit, Nicole shipped me another one right away. After that replacement was stolen from my apartment lobby by a package thief, I placed another order rather than ask for a second replacement. Unfortunately, they were out of stock, so Nicole reached out to me to offer another version of the item. When I told her about the theft she generously refunded my second purchase and shipped me the other version. I'm bookmarking Beacon for future supplies and gifts after this fantastic small business experience! If I'm ever in Jackson I'll be stopping by, too.

I love the Beacon!! They not only have consciously and locally sourced products, but they also have some of the best art supplies you can find! The owners are warm and open, and the shop caries SO MANY DIFFERENT THINGS! It is the best place for unique gifts in Jackson, and they also have a lot of the necessary items for self care, eco home supplies, fun antiques, all while providing responsible socially distant interactions during COVID. If you haven’t visited online you should! So glad to have this shop in Jackson. And excited they ship all over the US!

This store is my favorite place to spend all my money and also for the great conversations with the gem of an owner. Especially during this pandemic, Nicole has gone above and beyond fulfilling my orders. This place is such a beacon of light, and everything in that store is so thoughtfully stocked. Beacon is the best boutique store in Fondren. We are there at least once a month to stock up on handmade incense and see what other interesting finds they have brought in. I highly recommend it!

Their supplies were amazing and high quality but the staff were rude. They left me standing ready to pay at the register while assisting the one other customer in the store by explaining every product in front of them meticulously. By the time she got to me she started by yelling at my friend who was (unbeknownst to me) snacking and insisting that we should pay attention to the sign on the door. Then she must have felt she was on a roll because she continued to lecture me on how rude it was to complain about not being able to find the prices for anything in front of another customer.
