Our experience was truly memorable from start to finish. Everyone was incredibly helpful from the initial call to our first visit and pickup day. The facilities were clean and everyone was very professional. Our new girl has already stolen our hearts, and we’re excited to watch her grow with our family.

Got a dog from here very recent and they said he was healthy. When I finally got home with the dog he clearly wasn't. He's husky mix. Weighted at 32 pounds, had worms, tons of fleas and he couldn't walk on one of his paws. Right before I adopted him they said I could bring him back and get a full refund of my money. That was a lie as well. I'm now taking care of a sick dog but he is still a good dog. I would highly recommend steering clear of this place!!!

I thought this place was a little stinky. But, it was 90 some degrees. Some of the dogs had skin problems that weren't mentioned on take in sheets.

The love and care these animals receive on a daily basis is just wonderful! The staff is gentle, informative, non judging, but most of all loving.

The information on the internet is extremely misleading. The hours are correct but NOWHERE does it mention you have to have an appointment to give them animals. No idea about appointment for adoption. The information also says they’ll take ANY AGE animal. Again, not true. The lady at the counter was nice enough but told me I had to have an appointment to leave my 9 kittens (along with a $450 donation). The appointment coordinator said they wouldn’t take kittens under 8 weeks, which mine were not, even though the info online said” any age.” This person was very unconcerned that three other rescue organizations had recommended them and didn’t tell me I needed an appointment. This person told me to keep the kittens in my 18 x 24 in cage and bring them back in three weeks. The kittens and I drove an hour back home, with the donation, and they were released.

I rescued a dog in the middle of I-59 and brought it to this place as it was closest. They refused to take the dog unless I paid a fee to drop it off. I got the impression they would have rather I left the dog in the middle of the interstate. No one there including the manager cared at all about the dog. I eventually got her back to her owner, but I don't even live in that state and was driving through while working. I guess things work differently in Ms.

I am just now writing this review even though it’s been years. I adopted a sweet kitten in 2020 from here. They advised me that he was on a certain fiber based medication to help his stools return to normal. I said okay, purchased the medication from them and went on my way. I took him home and found that he basically had absolutely no control of his bowels. They let me take home a very very sick kitten. We did everything we could to take care of him and tried to get many vets to help fix what was going on with him. He lived for a few months after adoption. However he ended up passing away leaving us heartbroken. Southern pines will not hesitate to let a sick animal leave their facility. They need to make sure that furbabies are healthy before leaving with pet parents. I won’t be getting any more animals from them for sure.

We fostered and later adopted a dog through SPAS and had a great experience. They genuinely care about their animals and have devoted staff.

We adopted a dog from here a couple of months ago. This shelter cares so much about the animals in their care and does everything they can to keep them healthy and help them find their forever homes. Staff are friendly and the volunteers here are hardwokring.

I adopted my best friend from this shelter 8 years ago. They seem to really care about taking care of their animals and getting them adopted to a loving home.
