Love At First Sight
3422 Hardy St, HattiesburgI got a new puppy here based on a recommendation from a friend. They have purebred dogs to buy as well as rescue dogs. They're professional, responsive to questions, and the well being of the dogs seemed to be a top priority.

Pet Palace
3720 Hardy St #5, HattiesburgBest pet shop in town. I go mostly for the aquarium stuff, but they also sell birds, ferrets, reptiles and other small critters. Their selection isn't as big as the big box stores in most departments, but they are definitely worth checking out, and in some cases, have items I can't find in the bigger stores.Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Their animals are well taken care of. Two thumbs up from me.

Petco
4600 Hardy St #23A, HattiesburgI came here JUST to review Nichole, my Goldendoodle's trainer and her groomer Autumn. They are both amazing and professional. First Nichole, she has worked with my Luna to such a degree that I get compliments on how mannerable and well-behaved she is. She is working with Luna to get her ready for therapy work, hopefully next spring. In 3 weeks, she will be tested for Star Puppy. Now, Autumn, she's the best. My first time, I described to her how I wanted her groomed, and she took my vision and made it so much better. My little fluff ball looks so pretty, and the way she shaped her face makes her look like a teddybear. I can see her pretty golden brown eyes. I am VERY VERY VERY pleased with the Petco services. WRITE IT DOWN Nichole and Autumn.

Sumrall Brenda DVM
6804 US-98, HattiesburgWas a customer at a nearby veterinarian for many years. Had my pup boarded over a 4 day weekend, and my pup had just been bathed when I picked her up. Asked why and they informed me that she has congestive heart failure and they bathed her due to her having a bad bowel mvmt due to ker organs shutting down. ? I brought my lil girl to Mrs Brenda, and she informed me that she had a severe heart murmer and with the right medications she would have several more years. That's been over a year ago and my lil guard dog is still sleeping on our heads at night. Dr Brenda and her group are amazing, I wish I would have made the move many years ago!

Town & Country Animal Hospital: Ricks Tom DVM
12 Gravel Pit Rd, HattiesburgOur family has been blessed with many types of family members. We have over the years, required the services of several veterinarians within the Hattiesburg area. Regrettably, we have been continually disappointed. Most of our extended family has been of the feline (purr)suasion. After many years of association with Town and Country Vets I believe I can safely say, I have never been as pleased with the care that is provided to my felines. They are extremely attuned to the cat psyche and are very willing to take extra steps to connect with these patients. I have not found this to be true ANYWHERE else. Felines are not canines. They need vets to understand their specific needs. Though TOWN AND COUNTRY ANIMAL HOSPITAL care for many types of animals, they definitely have a knack for the cats!!!

Emergency Vets
107 Fairfield Dr #60, HattiesburgI never expected my emergency visit to end in making the decision to let my kitty baby go ... the staff was kind and answered all of my questions and were so patient with me the whole time ... they explained the whole process and what to expect ... it was the hardest day of my life, but their kindness made it somewhat easier. I know they did everything they could for him.
They sent the sweetest card a few days later with his little paw prints. I will cherish them forever.
And thank you to Wendy for talking to me on the phone afterward and making me feel more at peace with the decision that was made. It takes a special kind of person to do the work they do day in and out.

The Pet Hospitals (Parkway)
2010 Evelyn Gandy Pkwy, HattiesburgDr Christine Gibson, although retired, is the very best Vet I've ever known. She literally saved my fur babie 'Willie' when there was little hope for his recovery. It's very assuring that the Drs at the Pet Hospital on Gandy have two nieces of Dr Gibson. I'm sure that they were mentored by Dr Gibson who is THE BEST. One of my Italian Greyhounds will be having surgery next week and I am 100% confident that the surgery will have a good outcome.

All Animal Clinic
2138 Oak Grove Rd, HattiesburgThey gave us excellent service. My dog had a serious medical emergency and the empathy, kindness, and thoroughness they had made a scary situation much more manageable. The care we received was reassuring. Every single person we interacted with was great, but I’d especially like to say our vet tech (who unfortunately I did not get her name, but she had blonde hair and seemed young) was one of the best I’ve ever had. Her and our vet, Dr. rossum (sp?) explained everything clearly and had a genuine interest in helping us much as they could. They have earned our trust and we will be coming here from now on.

Pet Sitting & Training
Okatoma Boarding Kennel
342 Lux Rd, HattiesburgYou will not find a more friendly boarding kennel in the area. We are extremely picky about who we let keep our dog due to his breed (Doberman Pinscher). Every dog has its own air conditioned, indoor kennel with a bed as well as an outside run for bathroom breaks. They will let your dog out multiple times a day to play in their fenced in yard. We were offered a tour of the facility and nothing was hidden from us. One of the things that makes this place special is the fact that we received daily updates with pics of our boy. Also, knowing that they do obedience training as well as AKC CGC certification, we know that they will not let our young pup get away with unruly behaviors and also make sure he is well behaved in certain situations (waiting to go through doors, not allowing jumping, sitting for meals). This is by no means the most fancy place I have ever been but they care about their guests, know what they are doing and have been doing it for years. They are priced very fairly and drop off and pickup times are convenient. Highly recommend these nice folks!

Bow wow Boutique & Daytime Retreat
6808 US-98, HattiesburgA top-notch facility! We have been taking our two Great Pyrenees mixes to Bow wow regularly for boarding as well as day camp for the past 8 months. They have a large staff who are cheerful, professional, and have experience with a wide range of dogs and dog behaviors. They are careful about assessing your dog to make sure it has a positive experience with the other dogs and handlers. I never ever worry about our dogs when I drop them off. They seriously cannot wait to go "play" and they always act like they've had the best time there. A bonus is that Bow wow has an affiliated veterinary clinic, Advanced Pet Care, right next door. Thanks Bow wow for being there for us and them!

Petra Cafe Greek & Mediterranean
6060 US 49, HattiesburgThe food here is consistently amazing. This is my fourth visit, and the restaurant never disappoints. Their kofta kabab is so delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the flavors truly represent Mediterranean cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking an authentic experience.

AxeSmith @ Colludium Brewing Co
2108 W 4th St, HattiesburgMe and my wife were on an evening stroll down the Long Leaf Trace when suddenly she went into labor. Colludium was the closest building, as my phone was dead, I needed to call an ambulance. Before I could dial emergencies, Marcus had already delivered my firstborn. Inevitably, we named him Collin, short for Colludium... the greatest brewery East of the Mississippi.

Southern Prohibition Brewing
301 Mobile St, HattiesburgI got the opportunity to try this establishment last night. It was very cute and quaint. I feel it is a great spot to just go grab food and drinks or just have a quick little night out. It seems as if it would also be a very nice spot to have a company party. It’s very nice and spacious. It is plain from the outside, but could be considered more upscale on the inside. Definitely a hidden gem. I would totally recommend!

Murky Waters BBQ - Hattiesburg
1605 Hardy St #4908, HattiesburgWe had a peaceful lunch at Murky Waters BBQ. Just me and some kids during a weekday. Walking inside there is a distinct ‘smoked’ aroma which we got used to eventually. The food was delicious smoked meats. The kids menu was healthy. We ordered the kids burger and fries. The kids chicken bites are a smoked chicken lightly breaded which made it more chewy and a bit drier than what my kiddo looks for in chicken pieces. I had the brisket salad which was very large and could have easily been split into two salads. The brisket was delicious and I could choose my own sauce or dressing. The service was very polite and working very hard. We stopped here because it was directly across from the zoo and had a kids menu. The bathrooms are clean but limited to one each. We may try it again someday when we are in town.

Patio 44 Hattiesburg
3822 W 4th St, HattiesburgWe stopped in for lunch at Hattiesburg today on our way from Tuscaloosa to New Orleans. Emily gave us a friendly greeting and was soon bringing drinks and shortly after, our food. The food! We shared the Goat Cheese Chicken Salad sandwich - delightful toasted sourdough enclosing well flavored chicken salad. Fries accompanied the sandwich and added a salty crunch.
To say that we enjoyed lunch is putting it mildly. Emily's warm smile and attentive service gave us something to remember about Patio 44 for a long time.
