We've been to many aquariums and zoos over the years. The Mississippi is very small. The habits are very small and void of any vegetation or anything that would make them look like a natural habitat. I can appreciate the purpose of zoos for research and rehabilitation of wounded animals and those unable to return to the wild. It just makes me sad to see animals in such small enclosures where so little effort has gone into making them even resemble natural spaces.

Very expensive over 100$ for 3 peopleBuildings are separated you have to go in and out to get to different exhibitsCafe is also outside not good on the coast as rain showers pop up frequently!Staff was very friendly we really appreciated that! And I really hope they add to it because there wasn’t a whole lot to see they don’t even have a penguin exhibit

A small but mighty aquarium adventure for all ages to enjoy. I recommend going when it isn't hot to enjoy the outdoor exhibits and at a time that is less busy so you can take your time to enjoy the indoor ones. There have previously been aquatic attractions in the area where the animals were made to perform but they do not do that here, which I appreciate.

While smaller than the Baltimore aquarium, this place boasts a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and I had the pleasure of seeing my favorite animals, the otters. It took about 2 hours to view everything in one go, so I highly recommend visiting with friends and family. If you're driving and plan to park close to the aquarium, be prepared to pay for parking by the hour, or be prepared for a fair amount of walking.

Had a great time, but this was the smallest aquarium I’ve ever been to. I feel like the price should be cut in half for the experience I had. I’m from New Orleans & it’s the same price for admission for more than 4x the size of this aquarium.

Kind of expensive for how small of an aquarium it is but we love it regardless. All the animals seem to be very well taken care of. I recommend bringing your own snacks or lunch especially if you have younger kids. The wait time at the Café is insane even if there is no one there. It was $60 for tickets for 2 adults and a 1 year old.

I've been here twice now. First time I came here was in the summer and it was way too hot to really enjoy the outside exhibits, we spent about 2 hours here but mainly inside. I came back again in February to do the sea trek experience and OMG I loved it. My ears did start to hurt near the bottom of the ladder but the scuba diver helped me get through it and I was fine. From the kind lady at the ticket booth to the kind lady in the gift shop and everywhere in between, the staff was amazing. The scuba divers were awesome and the lady that went over the sea trek information with us was absolutely wonderful. There are more exhibits to see which was awesome. We were able to fully enjoy the freshwater exhibits outside this time. I loved petting the sea animals on the third floor. The staff have always been great to me. I lost my parking ticket thing so I ended up paying $11 for parking but I'm not mad about that because well, I lost my parking ticket lol. But even the lady at the gate offered to wait so I could search my car and I appreciated it.I will definitely be back.P.S. If anyone suffers chronic migraines and are sensitive to air pressure changes like me and are looking for feedback regarding the sea trek experience here it is. I personally was just fine in the helmet. I was worried about the pressure change (I get a migraine when a storm rolls through) but it did not trigger a migraine or headache of any kind. I know everyone is different but for the life of me I could not find any information anywhere. Even my neurologist gave me a "maybe." It's been 6 hours since I went under and my head feels fine. Just my personal experience. I'm glad I did not let the fear of migraine stop me from having this experience.

I received gift certificates to the Mississippi Aquarium for Christmas. My two preschool age daughters and I went this week for the first time since it opened. The otters, river fish aquarium, birds, dolphins, alligators, and crocodiles are all outside. We asked about the penguins and were told they weren't there at this time, but I believe that exhibit is outside as well. Only part that is inside is the normal salt water aquarium, which had one 4 foot shark, one sea turtle, stingrays, and various fish. They do have a touch pool where you can touch horseshoe crabs, crabs, starfish, small stingrays, which was the neatest thing there. We walked through the inside portion twice and around the outside exhibits twice (taking our time both times so our kids could really see everything), and we were there 2 hours.I'm obviously not trained in marine life but certain enclosures seemed pretty small for the number of creatures in it. 4 or 5 dolphins in a small tank, 4 alligators in a small enclosure, and 2 crocodiles in a pretty small area. The experience was okay. If I would've paid for tickets I would've been pretty disappointed in the size and quality of the aquarium.

This little aquarium is pretty good. It has dolphins, and aquatic touch area, two indoor aquariums and an outdoor one. It packs a lot in such a little space. The annual passes are worth it and they do events all the time there. The outdoor area has fresh water fish and otters. There is a nice Avery outside too. The main indoor aquarium on the top floor has the aquatic petting area. You can do helmet dives and dolphin experiences here too.The second building, newly opened has smaller critters like sea horses, octopus and there's even a drawing area for kids that scans and animates their drawing. There's a parking garage attached or you can park across the street and take the new above Hwy 90 walkway.

Outrageously overpriced, especially considering how filthy the tanks were. We saw a dead sea turtle floating near the tunnel area, and the dolphins tank is beyond depressing

Came today 2/27 for a little me time. I was impressed though not the biggest aquarium I have been to it certainly was quaint and well put together. I stopped first to Aquatic Wonders and a nice woman named Maureen had greeted me and asked me if I was ever there before. To which I politely stated no, and she proceeded to give me a quick 1 on 1 tour of the area and some of the aquatic life. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. I learned some new things I never knew before and was extremely grateful. Then I proceeded on throughout the exhibit and loved it all. Then went over to the Changing Tides which was a quick yet pretty exhibit area showing some sea life as well as land creatures (some frogs, snakes, and more!). The layout of the rest of the aquarium was mostly outside. I loved the otters they are so cute and got to see them eating. The aviary part was cool too! Also a volunteer that was working near the dolphin tank was so friendly and I am sorry I didn’t get her name but she was awesome. Also the staff working in the gift shop were phenomenal as well. Overall I was extremely happy with my visit, I spent about a good 2 1/2 hrs here worth it in my book.

This "aquarium" is so much more than meets the eye. My girlfriend and I decided to swing by here during our week long vacation near Biloxi. We were absolutely astounded by the knowledge, personability, and professionalism presented from their staff. During our visit, we decided we would like to see all of their daily shows as the first one we saw absolutely provided more than enough value for the price of our admission. First, we saw them feed the birds in the aviary while they explained the differences in the various birds. The birds walked around and flew overhead the entire time, providing a wonderful display of their colors. Next, we walked around to the otter enclosure and met two wonderful otters, and learned all about their natural habits. After their feeding, a wonderful staff member answered all our questions expertly and did a great job making us feel welcome. After this, we saw the dolphin trainers put on their daily show and saw all the wonderful tricks their four beautiful dolphins could perform. Lastly, we watched the feeding and training session of their North American beavers. Chelsea, the staff member and animal trainer, did an excellent job explaining how and why they typically train. As well as why specific things were in their habitats, and finally gave an amazing talk about all the cool and odd facts of the beavers. She was so nice that during our visit, she allowed us an insider look at their training with Tito, their two toed sloth! While I can't guarantee this will happen during your visit, I promise you will still be wow'd by their amazing animals and staff. This was a wonderful way to end our experience with this venue. I started by saying they are an "aquarium" because they are so much more. So long as you keep your eyes and ears open, I can guarantee the staff will teach you something new! They are also looking for interns, so for those who are pursuing zoology or other marine or reptile studies, please apply and enjoy!

Fantastic place for family’s to visit in the MS Gulf Coast. Our kids love to visit the aquarium so much we bought the yearly family passes. Their favorite is the big aquarium on the first floor and the touch tank! They always get so excited to get to touch a real live shark! ? the dolphins are fun to watch and it is very interesting to see all the freshwater fish that’s in our area in the multi layered tank that’s outside. Pretty cool that we had the opportunity to build the aquarium a 27’ custom aluminum Catamaran and also some aluminum fabrication work in the dolphin area as well! Highly recommend!!
