I actually, don’t know where to start to say what I want to say! So I’m going to just jump off into the water! I have lived on the Mississippi coast, my whole life. My family owned a wholesale tomato company, that had a track record of over 50 years of being in business, and out of the 50 years we never ever ran out of product that we sold! Plus, it had a shelflife of about 10 days or it would start to rot, and we would have to throw it away with our profits! I can only lead the horse to the water, but I can’t make him drink it! If the general public, actually knew and understood how Walmart Operates with their vendors, and the way that they are able not to take any risk from shrinkage, to theft, Walmart does not lose! If the average person understood Walmart business practice, and hopefully people will learn to go look it up and teach themselves how Walmart does business with vendors! Example! If a person sells sunglasses to Walmart and I’m going to bring in 50 pair a week, they will scan 50 pair in, and if 50 pair sell, then I get my money but, if someone steals 25 pair of them, then I’ll only get paid for 25 pairs! If I scan 50 pair in 50 pair have to scan out at the registers if not, I’ll take the loss as the vendor not Walmart! As far as Dollar General goes, I do understand how hard it is to get educated good help! And I’m not talking about college education, at least through junior high would help! And when you do find someone everybody wants $50 an hour to work! Which is absolute insanity!!! When I started noticing, that Dollar General was starting to build stores in certain demographic areas that would allow people to walk or ride a bike to be able to go to to get daily things, I actually found myself thinking that someone at Dollar General with a suit and tie on came up with a game plan to push back at the competition! And it started working! The competition actually started building tiny little Walmarts, and they even used the name neighborhood market, Walmart! Just like Dollar General, build their stores adjacent to small Neighborhoods! A few months back, I went to the closest dollar general for my convenience, and I was looking for an item that was not a high turnover, big, selling item, nor was it a High theft item. And I remember asking the young lady that was working in the store. When did she think that they would be getting that item in? She said she wasn’t sure, so I asked her when the next truck was due? She said it would be there on a Thursday and for me to check back! After about 10 days had passed, and they still did not have the item! At that point, I had gotten flustered, and I asked her, if her dad would have owned the Dollar General that she was working at Would, she put forth more of an effort, and make sure the item was even ordered? And I’ll never forget what she said to me! “ SHE SAID, IF MY DADDY OWNED THIS DOLLAR GENERAL, That she would probably not be working there, and she will be at home! I went to a a different DG and got what I needed, and the original store that I was trying to get the item still does not have it, and that has been a year ago! I guess it’s too hard to scan the barcodes in front of the items! Please feel free, to look at the pictures that I have left, because I was in total disbelief When I went into the store this past Monday 23rd of March 2024. If my father owned the dollar general, with all these empty shelves, he would have me hanging upside down, giving me a lecture of a lifetime! When you look at the pictures, keep in mind, Covid has been gone! I don’t think there has been any hurricanes show up in the last couple of weeks? I just can’t help but believe, That there is someone in management, if not the head CEO of DG that would freak out and probably close the store down until they got it restocked, to stop the embarrassment! For those of you, that may not know there is a Dollar General store, off of Highway 49 a stones throw down N. Swan Rd. across from highway53. I started shopping at that store Years ago, and the manager is sharp as a bag of needles!

Shelves are usually pretty bare but I could deal with that. They get a one star because the old white woman is EXTREMELY rude. The other employees are cool. But anytime I see her I know I'm in for a terrible experience

The shelves are always empty all year round they never have anything I’m looking for. The workers are lazy it’s best to go to the other dollar general on Dedeaux Road you won’t be disappointed!!

This location would make for a good neighborhood store if they would only keep their selves stocked! How in the hell can a store always be out of stock on most grocery items?!

I watched the elder gentleman on the register berate a young gentleman because he asked for cash back. Usually I like this location but the behavior of that cashier really put me off.

Check your bags and make sure everything is there. Gotta treat this DG location like fast food. Not a good place to get 2ltrs. The Pepsi products are flat and rancid

Ms. Faith is a hard working store manager. She works hard to keep the store well stocked and tidy at all times. Kimble and Pat work in conjunction to help with the stocking and customers as fast as they can. Pretty busy store, great variety in selection of merchandise also.
