December 2023 by Olivia James
We moved here last December and I’m just going to say before moving in take your time and view your unit and turn on the lights while doing so. We were showed a demo Apt and it was nice of course but the Apt we viewed before moving in wasn’t fully visible. We viewed it on a cloudy day and the Apt was wood facing so we couldn’t tell what all issues were going on. We also couldn’t see the paint on the edges of the carpet and the fact that they tried to clean overly dirty carpet makes it worse. We seen the clean streaks and thought oh this carpet is okay. When we moved in we found out the carpet was extra dirty. So dirty to the point that their were dirt trials in our room that were stuck in the carpet. We called management and they told us the carpet had been changed. Also, our tile floors were completely worn to the point that even mopping didn’t save them. Following these two things we had to put in a plethora of maintence requests for molded shower rods etc and had been all year. It was so many requests, I could scroll through them. We have been ready to move from here since we moved in and we did a couple days ago and enjoying an apartment that’s actually painted correctly and has fresh new carpet. Please view your apartment here and don’t just sign a lease before actually physically going in and viewing it with lights ON because you will walk into surprises on move in day if you don’t.

If zero star was an option I would rate it. Ashford Place Apartments is the biggest excuse for an apartment complex. We have been here for almost a year now and there it has been an absolute nightmare. We were shown a demo model and promised it would be laid out exactly the same. When we moved in we noticed that the glass shelving that we anticipated on getting due to it being in the demo was not in our new apartment, cigarette smoke smell as well. . We called and called about getting it added and could never get any help/fix. The company who runs it has the worst employee turnover rate. Every day someone is replaced, you will never see the same person the next week. If you ever need anything don't expect to hear from the office. You cannot ever get into contact with anyone at the front office. You will be transferred to someone in Texas who cant do anything to help you and can only leave the office a message where you will never get a call back. They do inspections every month so if you have pets they must be secured all day if you are not home. A few weeks ago after the inspection was done I got home from work and what do I find at 10:00PM at night? A set of keys that the maintenance people left in my door. Anybody could've gotten those keys and cut them and broke into my home (or yours) where me and my family sleep. They still do inspections and don't have the nerve to tell me that they cannot get into my apartment due to irresponsibility. What would happen if we were away from home and they needed to get in? Or inspections on the smoke alarms etc. It is an absolute joke. The pool/hottub is NEVER opened. Gates to get in at night work half of the time.If you want some place to call home , Ashford Place Apartments is not where you want to be. If you want a lay your head down at night in a place where your rent is astronomically high and the people don't care about you then it definitely is. Go anywhere else to spend your hard earned money. These people are MONSTERS. God forbid you pay your astronomically high rent a day late, or else you will be charged a $250 late fee every 3 days. When we first moved in it wasn't this bad. The maintenance was great and I realize that we are not perfect and we all make mistake but at least tell me , Hey we messed up and cant find our set of keys but would like to make sure your apartment and assets are safe. One thing I can say is that it is a very nice area to be in. Very safe part of Rankin County.

Love this community! It’s always clean and maintained, apartments are upgraded, and most importantly it’s a safe place to stay.

They really need to enforce guest rules. They come to property and crowd the swimming pool, and create noise disturbances. Management doesn’t seem to care. At $2k a month, might as well go rent house somewhere else.

Me and my boyfriend moved here in July and have faced issue after issue. They day we moved in we had no AC, then right after that we didn’t have hot water for 5 days, then our fridge went out and now our dryer outlet is out and it’s been like pulling teeth to get maintenance out here to fix it. The office is so unhelpful and doesn’t follow through with anything they say, even when it’s imperative that they do. We hate living here and wouldn’t suggest it to anyone unfortunately.

My kids and I moved here from TX back in Nov and I must say this was the absolute best decision I made for us. The property is gorgeous with screened in porches. It is very peaceful and relaxful. A gated community was a must have on my list along with stainless steel appliances. I figure if I'm going to pay the price, it must look like it is worth it. Our bedrooms are very large and spacious along with the walk in closets. My master bed & bath are just right for this queen!

Started off great, but ended terrible. The “hot tub” has been broken since I moved there in 2019. We filed a complaint against a guest for threatening physical violence, and come to find out multiple people have complained about the resident and nothing would be done. On top of that the resident bragged about being friends with the curtesy officer who resides at “ashford”, stating that he could get the officer to take part in physically assaulting someone. Never had a problem with the staff or other residents until then.
