Lonnie and Jamie were such professionals; they really took the stress off the move. Very well mannered, approachable, talked and laughed as well as worked with clarity and certainty. Definitely handled all items with care, even the small things. HIGH RECOMMEND THESE TWO! THANK YOU!

Do not use McConnell Brothers for your move. I’m a military member who had them contracted for me for my non-temporary storage (NTS). The movers themselves were nice and did an okay job. They used paper stickers that are nearly impossible to remove from hard surfaces and, when my wife called and asked if they had advice for removing them, she was laughed at on the phone. When we received our items at our destination, 41 items were missing including a 65” TV, dresser, antique cabinet, antique coffee table (family heirloom), 2 oversized chairs, 2 dining room table chairs, several boxes of books (including our wedding album), all my military challenge coins, so many kids toys, etc. The list goes on and on. I was understandably upset and after they “looked” in the warehouse, they said they could not find it. Not happy with that answer, I asked if I could come look. My wife was crying while I was on the phone, made a comment to the lady about losing our stuff to which the “customer service” expert replied: “She ain’t gonna talk to me like that”. It only got worse from there. I filed a formal complaint and they were written-up.I made a similar review on a facebook page where, dozens of local residents shared similar stories from McConnell Brothers losing their items and horrible customer service. The OWNER of the company proceeded to blast anyone with a negative opinion of their business, giving his bad reputation an even worse look. I am currently in the claims process trying to get reimbursed for them losing over 500 pounds of my property.I’m sure the owner will try and respond to this and salvage any reputation but, please, do me a favor, use another mover. After the claims process, I fully intend on contacting my local congressman and senator, the congressman and senator representing Columbus, MS., the Inspector General’s office, and whoever else I need to. My hope is to ensure they never receive another government contract.

Please don’t use them. Lost/stolen items. They deny claims. Valuable items are damaged. Read the reviews. Not a reputable company. You can tell by the review below what kind of people the are. They don’t care about customers. Under husbands name!!! Their excuse is always “we don’t have a move under that name!”

Several pieces damaged, absolutely destroyed my maple office desk, several things left behind. Damaged the walls in our new home moving items in. Not what we were expecting for the $15,000 we were charged to move from Mississippi to South Carolina. The ladies are pretty good as far as packing goes but the guys that did the moving were horrible. I didn't even want to file a claim so I wouldn't have to have anything else to do with them. Find a couple of out of work sheet rock hangers and rent U-hauls to move your stuff before you hire these people.

We’re a military family who was assigned them to pack and transfer our household goods. Their packers were lazy and awful. They were supposed to pack for 3 days. They finished in a day and a half because of how poor they did. They taped and transferred dishes, glass, and priceless family heirlooms dolls (while ruining the boxes with tape) without putting any of that in a box. Literally sent that stuff with no protection. My Christmas dishes arrived without a box as well. The previous moving company we had used before put every single one of my storage tubs in a box to protect the tub during transit. This company did not. All my tubs are broken from transit. Instead of providing me with actual paper to review their notes, they handed me an electronic piece of equipment where I couldn’t read their notes. They marked every wood item I owned in their notes as scratched even though some of it was brand new. They also stripped my bed frame when they came to take apart my bed. Also instead of a parts bag that you label and store they threw all my bed hardware loose into an open box. If I could give zero stars I would. Military families beware and try to get your company switched if you’re assigned them.*Edit: I’m not the military member so my name wouldn’t have been used. I’m the spouse who received all the household goods by myself and unpacked all the boxes. I’ve attached a picture of the paperwork where this company is listed since they don’t believe me :) I would also like to add, the inventory was done very poorly. The company that unloaded our goods was in shock my high value items weren’t inventoried correctly under which boxes they were in. We literally had to guess and open tons of boxes to make sure my high value items were there. Didn’t label what boxes at all for them, and inventory was very very vague.

Professional moving companies in the South have to know better than to store household goods in a non-climate controlled facility. Moreover, cloth couches and chairs, etc should be wrapped and protected. There should not be obvious, ridiculously dirty hand prints on every one. The workers that did the move were very courteous and professional, and cleaned their hands frequently. The handprints and extensive dirt were clearly from the storage facility. Also, there was extensive mold throughout the couches and chairs that was not there when picked up. We’ll see how the claims process goes.

Had items arrive damaged. Filed a claim and had zero hassle getting it processed and came out of it with a fair resolution.

DO NOT let this company handle your move. The day they loaded us, we realized over halfway through that they hadn't inventoried anything. We had to go to their warehouse the following Monday and watch them unload the truck and inventory it. As they were unloading, we saw they did not wrap a single piece of furniture in cling wrap or blankets, besides our washer and dryer and 1 small dresser, despite them telling us they would wrap everything as they loaded it onto the truck. We went on to our next base and our stuff sat in their warehouse for weeks collecting dust and cobwebs, until they "wrapped" and loaded everything into crates (by "wrapped", I mean cover one side of a piece of furniture with paper, or wrap just the top half of something and leave the bottom half exposed). We finally got our things and the amount of damage is insane. There was no method to their loading of these crates. Couches and couch cushions are completely filthy, not to mention there was a random piece of wood that pierced through our couch. They used our unwrapped couch cushions as space filler in crates with dirty garage items. Our dining table legs are completely scraped up and have shoe prints all over them. They put our lawnmower sideways on top of our wood entertainment stand and oil leaked all over it. Boxes arrived smashed and broken, including some items inside them. The local moving company that unloaded us took pictures of every crate as they opened it because they couldn't believe how poorly it was packed and didn't want to be held responsible for the damage. Basically everything of ours is now scuffed, dented, scratched, or damaged in some way. I wish I could give McConnell Brothers a negative star rating. They absolutely do not care about your household goods.

While I am grateful they moved me and I know the family who owns this company, they ruined one of my flat screen TVs and when I submitted a claim they refused to even consider it. I told the contact person they failed to provide adequate packing for it (which was quoted) and then when they stored it they tilted it at an angle with the screen leaning against a toolbox from an elevated position. When I asked not to do that they told me it would be ok. Regardless there is a cracked screen across the spot they leaned against it. Their response was they didn't know if it was working or not and any claim would be denied. When I told them I was going to consult a lawyer (because I did not like the tone I received) their response was out policy is iron clad and it won't go anywhere. I will never recommend or use them again despite the fact I know the family. If I could give zero stars I would.

Scheduling our move and getting a quote went very well. The guys on our move, John and Chris, were AMAZING! Moving can be stressful and they were both so friendly and helpful and upbeat. They were very careful with our belongings both during the loading process and the unloading. They were so professional and so much fun to be around!

Where to start! First I will say the guys who actually did the work were great guys. First, even tho their representative had been out to our home to see our items to be moved, and saw that we live down a narrow gravel road, they sent the biggest tractor trailer to load our belongings. ( our things ended up filling about half or less of the truck ) They tore up our neighbor’s front yard trying to back in. Even got stuck in their yard, requiring a tow truck to come pull them out. ( never offered an apology or compensation) I had one item that was important to me. They had a special form for me to fill out describing the item. It is a 100 year old secretary/curio cabinet that belonged to my grandmother. ( they did offer additional insurance for another 450.00...my feeling was if I’m paying them 2,500.00 to move us 220 miles then I should get my things down there in one piece) They were scheduled to deliver our items on a Thursday. They called to tell us it would be Friday. Ok. They arrived and unloaded and all was well until one of the guys came in and handed me the entire front leg to the secretary. No, it shouldn’t come off. It was snapped off. They also crushed the top to our shredder but I wasn’t upset over that. I didn’t make a scene. Just filed a claim for the damage. Today I got my check. 27.00 for the antique secretary and 4.00 for my 60.00 shredder. I would avoid them if you can. And carry your precious things yourself!

Great experience. Moving sucks, but they made it as painless as possible. Very easy to get a quote. Did a good job with some big pieces in some tight spaces. Would recommend

I have utilized the services of McConnell Brothers for two moves and the service was excellent each time. All employees of McConnell Brothers, including management, worked to make the moves as easy as possible for me and my family. Very happy with their services.

I ordered a table back in May and this company never told Wayfair that the table had water damage. I called and spent in total 4 hours trying to figure out why my table was over a month late. Come to find out that it was not delivered due to water damage. My replacement table has been rescheduled for delivery twice and the replacement has also taken a month to be delivered. Unacceptable.
