We are in our third year living at Maison, and we have enjoyed our time here. We haven’t had problems with any type of crime, most of the neighbors are friendly, and as long as you treat the office staff with respect and basic human kindness, they will reciprocate. It is irritating that some of our fellow residents throw their trash onto the ground WHERE THEY LIVE! But the staff is pretty good about keeping the property clean, tidy, trimmed and manicured. They do the best they can with the residents who take no pride in where they live. And bugs (yuck), yes there are some roaches here. Unfortunately, that’s apartment life in most complexes. They have exterminators come in regularly, but no matter how obsessively I clean and put roach traps out, I can’t get rid of them completely, and that’s mainly because you can’t control the cleanliness of 100% of the neighbors in your building. There are maintenance issues, but the place is over 50 years old. We had a leak in the ceiling of our apartment, and they sent someone to fix it the next day. So, in our experience they do respond to maintenance problems in a timely manner. The rent is affordable, our neighbors are respectful and quiet, and we just signed a lease for a third year. It works for us.

Have lived here for almost a year now with my girlfriend and can say the place has exceeded my expectations of it (from reading the reviews). maybe we got lucky with our unit or our neighbors but I honestly have not experienced the bug problem like many others have stated, and like others have stated the staff makes this place that much better I’ve never had an issue with them or have not had a problem taken care of in a timely manner. It’s not the Taj Mahal but for the price in my experience it’s one of the best around. I will be renewing my lease until we are ready to buy, that should say more than enough.

Just don't. I didn't even make it to signing my paperwork. Saw the other reviews, figured I'd give them a shot anyway. The front office laddies were nice enough. However first they didn't have a unit for me until a month after I paid my deposit. Didn't tell me that until after I paid it either. Then they happened to get one available right before my previous lease ended. Had to tell them multiple times I wasn't signing anything until I saw the unit I'd be renting myself since I'd already paid the deposit. Couldn't view it until the day before I was supposed to be moved in. Finally got to view it and there were roaches everywhere. Crawling on the walls (in a VACANT unit) and dead ones in the cabinets/drawers. I could only imagine an entire year in that place. Which is a shame because other than that it didn't seem too bad. Went back to the front office and told them I wasn't interested because it had a severe roach problem. They didn't seemed too surprised by the roaches, more so that I was backing out. Told me: "We didn't see any when we went in it (must've closed their eyes when they went in). We pest control the vacant units every Monday but you can't help who your neighbors are". The pic was just the ones on top of the water heater which was located directly in the middle of the kitchen. So if you're good with all that, by all means I wish you luck.

They won’t give me my $250 deposit back when I never signed a lease and said something about “liquidated damages” when they haven’t lost any money me changing my mind about moving in which by the way, I can’t move in because I had a family emergency. The apartment itself smelled like wet dog, and it just didn’t feel like home anyways. The staffing there are nice and I understand it’s not them, but i pretty much lost money on an apartment that I wouldn’t have otherwise seen until move in day of it wasn’t for me going there myself to check. I’m highly upset because I need that money.

This place denied me an apt based off a charge that happened when I was 18 years old.. I'm 38 now and have not been in trouble since. I.also make 4x the rent with a stable source of income. Really? Do better and don't judge a person off of one mistake.

These people lie! None of these ladies do their paperwork right like they are supposed to, they tell you your approved than give the apartment to someone else and don’t follow Mississippi law! Not only that but after walking through the apartments they are not taken care of filthy and everything’s fallen apart! The floors on the balconies aren’t being replaced properly the woods rotted and trash everywhere! Don’t waste your time!

I lived here for three years. Maintenance can't keep up. The roaches are uncontrollable. They are everywhere, even coming out of the electrical sockets. The last two year I lived there, neither of the pools was open for even a day. During the last three months the of my stay, maintenance was in my apartment 4 times to fix the toilet. It never worked properly after a piece was replaced. Maintenance has really gone way, way down. The office staff was wonderful when I moved in. Change in ownership also changed office staff. They are extremely rude now to residents. I've even watched drug deals go down in the middle of the day. Not a good environment for children. So glad I was able to find another place. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

Roach infested. No matter what you do, they come back. Very irritating and trying to get maintenance to fix did not work. Other than the health and safety issues with the roaches the place was ok for the money.

If I could id give this place no stars. I lived here for 3 years my first year there we had a bad infestation of roaches. There pest control was complete garbage. They do not give deposits back period so expect that money to be gone. When I finally moved out they sent me a bill for 1500 dollars. What they do is try and find anything at all that's messed up and charge you for it even if it wasn't you that caused it. Probably one of the worst living conditions I've ever had to deal with I recommend to anyone looking at these do not rent from these people.

Very grateful for this affordable apartment complex. While every other apartment is renovating, charging $1500 a month because they put hard wood floors in, Maison keeps it real and keeps it affordable.

Too many cars parked everywhere...I was dropping off a co worker. Lived there several years ago. I didnt have a car then. The congestion is unbelievable.
