We purchased the cider tasting and heirloom apple tasting, plus two donuts. Sweetland staff provided us with a box that contained generous tastes of nine ciders, explanations and descriptions of each cider, and five apples, also with description cards. They included a knife and cutting board for the apples (also helped with our cheese and cracker picnic) tasting glasses, a tablecloth for the picnic table, and the donuts. We obviously had favorites among the ciders and apples but everything was good and it was a fun couple of hours. Families welcome --chickens roam the yard, they had croquet and soft cider for the kids, and everything was casual. We took a walk through the orchard afterward and bought apples and cider to bring home. Worth the short drive from the Cities if you like cider and want an easy fall outing.

Took a drive on a Sunday morning for a 10:30 am (yes, cider at 10:30 am) tasting kit reservation, along with heirloom apple tasting. There was a slight wait, but the employees were very friendly and it gave us time to look around the barn. We were told there were picnic tables scattered throughout the orchard so we took a walk away from the noise and explored until we found a table, away from everyone, overlooking the trees. The entire experience was a delight and a nice change of pace from the usual flight tasting experience. We appreciated the tasting cards as it then became an educational experience. ?

I have been going here for six or seven years. It has gotten wildly popular. They really need to make sure that people only stay for a two hour reservation because every single picnic table was taken even the ones in the Orchard. People are getting wicked drunk, Dogs are running around chasing chickens, making kids cry. I really did love this place Keep it under control. I probably won’t be going back. They need limits on time that people are staying. We saw people who were there for hours and hours. It was obvious because they were playing drinking games on the table and yellIng. I am no prude. I enjoy drinking, but it’s not a family place anymore. Please, if you’re Seeing any of this, make sure you have time limits on tables so all enjoy. Also getting your act together with having the picnic baskets that were paying $28 Beforehand would be great.

The perfect day. Cider was stunning - we had perennial and northern spy. Farm bread was delicious and a great vessel for Shepards way cheese - a perfect picnic under a canopy of fall leaves. Overall just a great vibe!

It is a wonderful place to visit just to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Low-key tasting "barn" where you can purchase cider pints for about $5 or tastings for $15 or so. Larger tasting boxes are available by reservation on the website, and you must request those a day in advance. Some orchards charge admission just to walk around...not the case here!
Their ciders are generally less sweet and less carbonated than mainstream options, but it's better to taste the fruit.
They have tables near the barn but many others are scattered throughout their orchard, less than 100 yards away and much more private and scenic.

Did the tasting basket, it was quite busy at 2 pm on a Saturday in early October, but we found a secluded picnic table to enjoy our food and drinks! The ciders are so good. Cool place and cool vibe, perfect fall romantic date in my opinion.

An absolutely ✨phenomenal✨ experience! Me and my group of four had an absolute ball at this orchard! We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was so worth the drive! Not too crowded, plenty of picnic tables throughout the orchard to enjoy a needed break from the city! We pre-ordered the cider and apple tasting kits, as well as a few add-ons! The food and bevs were delightful and the chickens that hung out with us were entertaining and friendly. We met three kitties and chatted with the pigs! The experience was absolutely worth the time, energy, and money! We cannot wait to come back next fall! ???

First time visiting and had an amazing cider tasting in their orchard this past weekend! I wish it wasn’t such a drive for us! Very kid friendly too with a lot of space to roam and explore!

Back when Sweetland Orchard had a little pop-up coffee booth on a random weekend! It was a very lovely place with very friendly people that I enjoyed chatting with!

Borealis desert wine wins 5 stars for taste!! Best desert wine we've had. We first tasted desert wine made just West of Corvallis Oregon. That was 12 years ago. Borealis rocks!!!!
