Bought a $9000 van a month ago and have had to bring it in 8 times to be serviced. The first night I got it home the radiator cap came off. Coolant everywhere. They came and got it and repaired it. Have been dealing with check engine light since. Took it to a perham shop and it only took them 45 minutes to figure out the cause. Took it back to kals and they did the work Friday (it's Sunday now.) hoping this was the last of the visits for the light. Thankful they worked with me and did the right thing and fixed it for free for me. (Given I did buy it as is. But don't expect to have to deal with this when you buy an expensive car.) over all pretty good service department staff. Will not be getting another car threw them tho. When I had borrowed cars one was a small black car that shook when parked and bad breaks. (They were notified and was told well good thing it's not your problem huh) Then next was a big SUV and the sun roof leaked, and had mold on the passanger seat and then stalled on the road twice. (Was only told well can you make it last while we repair your van. Try restarting it...)

Used 1997 truck, leaking gas, leaking power steering fluid, leaking rear differential, rear window leaked water. They did fix the gas leak but were not willing to fix the power steering fluid leak. Way overpaid for a rusted truck that only lasted one year. I did appreciate they did not try to sell me crazy add ons, but then again I paid cash. I would not buy from them again.

This review is regarding Dan Weiher. I live 4 hours away in North Dakota and recently brought my old golf cart in for service since the service I got in ND was substandard and did not remedy my issues. I figured I would take it back to where I purchased it, and that is how I ended up back in Kals in Wadena. I emailed and Dan W responded promptly and gave me the opportunity to bring my cart in right away. I dropped it off, spoke with Dan and he told me they would assess the issue and fix it and get back to me ASAP. My cart was done in around a week and I drove down to come and pick it up. Prior to arriving, I searched their inventory to see if I would be interested in trading up for a newer model from Kals. I found one, but I didn't make the final decision until the day I got back to Wadena. The service and communication I received from Dan and the service staff through the entire process was second to none. I was glad to trade in my cart for a new model and the process was simple and hassle-free. I will be doing my business with Kals and Dan from now on 4 hours away from my home, because great customer service is hard to come by and I am particular about who gets my business.

Overall the experience at Kals was positive! The only reason for the one star is the 4 square sales technique where the dealership sneaks in additional costs into the purchase agreement that were not fully discussed or agreed to! If you're going to buy a vehicle from here review the face of the purchase agreement in totality before signing and review it for any unexpected costs (e.g. a maintenance contract that'd run 5k or more of the life of the loan on a 21k out the door deal).
Ill break this review into sections:
5/5 Deals - overall there are alot of solid deals here and priced fairly when we we're shoppin around
5/5 Greeter- Fantastically sarcastic guy, asked him for a lunch spot hed suggest. Uptown - fantastic burgers. Great recommendation.
5/5 Dealer Financing - I didnt need financing;however, we were purchasing for my brother in law and wanted to take advantage of their flat purchase price discounr. The finance guy explained how different factors impacted my brother in laws eligibility and was overall very helpful in explaining how income and different components impact his credit worthiness.
0/5 Sales experience - the salesman rushed my brother-in-law (18) through signing the paperwork and neglected to explain he'd snuck a $4,500 warranty contract into the purchase agreement clearly trying to take advantage of an inexperienced buyer.
I was distracted at the time figuring out insurance quotes, but I knew the purchase agreement was the primary document I needed to review for sketchy stuff like that. I knew after we passed the payment section that something was fishy when I calculated the OTD price myself, but wanted to sit back and see if my brother in law would catch it himself. He didnt- We get to the purchase agreement and I start questioning why the payment was $300 instead of the payment amount I calculated of $200. The salesman looked embarassed when I asked that question and became annoyed when I told him we didn't want that. He did do us a solid because my brother-in-law initialed the face of the PA doc before I stopped him.
The salesmans demeanor for the rest of the transaction told me this was an intentional attempt on his part to take advantage of an inexperienced buyer. So my only recommendation to any potential shoppers - is beware the awful sales staff!
Everyone else is fantastic though, and the deals are a great value for the area at a time when used vehicles are tough to come by!

I purchased a golf cart and when it was delivered it had cigarette burns in the seats imagine my shock when I saw this.
Beware of the manager Dan of Wadena Minnesota. He’s a backstabber
You assume everything will be new when you pay that much money and no one has mentioned that ohhh by the way the seats will have cigarette burns…

The guys there are great. I walked around looked at a couple vehicles. Nobody rushed out to assist. I like that. I went in, asked to check out two cars. The keys were handed to me one at a time, no escort. I like that too. I decided on one, and 90 minutes later, I was on the road. The vehicle I chose did not have an owners manual with it. No problem, I'll get one in the mail. It's easy to see why they sell a lot of cars. I highly recommend.

We walked in to Kals and were immediately greeted by friendly people excited to help. Although we were just “looking” at UTV’s, we got such a great deal that we walked out an hour later, new owners of our 2020 Polaris Ranger! Great service, staff and deals at Kals!

Bought a Car back in June and although it was a "Mechanically" great Car as per Kals opinion, it seems all we have been doing is running into more and more issues that should have been caught. Both side Suspension Trailing Arms were Bad, 2 of the tires were not legal for the road (something I should have looked harder at but with the new low profile tires eyeballing it is hard), the check engine light came on after only a week and had to replace a part on the Emissions System, now it is in the shop to have the headlights replaced and on removal of the bumper cover, there are two missing brackets that are very crucial for holding the bumper in place. Lets hope this is all that we have for issues here on out. Would not recommend doing business here even with their very friendly sales team.

Dan at Kals in wadena was awesome. I basically had the car bought before setting foot on the lot. Honest guys that are straight shooters and for a used car salesmen not to pressure you is nice
