*Update* On April 30th, 2024 - Brian reached out to me regarding my review here and “didn’t know who wrote the dealership’s response. They wrote their response to make themselves look good like they are taking care of their customers. Brian has avoided my calls, hasn’t called back. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP.
Hoodwinked - I should have read the negative reviews before purchasing my truck.
If I could describe my experience with Waconia Fury Motors it would be Unethical, disrespectful and yes, I got “Hoodwinked.” Their words not mine. I recorded phone the call.
After the purchase (3 weeks later) I learned the oil leak that Fury Motors in South St. Paul (SSP) fixed wasn’t actually fixed. I asked SSP Fury Motors if they would fix it since that’s what they told me and they said they would look into it.
I found out there was an undisclosed electrical issue with the door locks which I believe Fury Motors tried to hide. Someone put in a new 20a mini-fuse prior to me taking it home. The power locks on my truck just stopped working (electrical issue). Also the rear defroster stopped working. I reached out several times to South St Paul Fury since they were the location who “fixed” the reported issues. I kept getting ignored but I kept texting their service Department.
This led to me getting a call from “RJ” who is the Waconia General Sales Manager. RJ right off the bat started asking me how their dealership was responsible for a repair on an “As-Is” used vehicle sale?
RJ was nothing but unprofessional. One of the first things he said to me when he called me was “You’re at MY other store trying to get your truck fixed.” RJ told me they disclosed the oil leak and I reminded him SSP Fury said they repaired it. RJ said they are different dealerships, gave me the run around like I should have known Fury Motors in South St Paul is not the same company as Fury Motors on Waconia but they had work done on my truck prior to it being at Waconia.
RJ bragged about how the “Sold As-Is” document he had would hold up in court and the Attorney General’s Office wouldn’t take any legal action from me. RJ said “it’s not like we tried to Hoodwink ya”.
I also mentioned to RJ the 20amp mini fuse used to hide the electrical issue. He denied knowing about it and cited MN Law about vehicles that had over 75,000 miles. RJ said “I don’t have to disclose any problems in the State of Minnesota on any car that is over 75,000 miles or older than 7 years old. I don’t have to disclose anything.” And told me again it’s As-Is and he didn’t need to disclose anything.
RJ told me if I wanted a vehicle with a warranty I should have bought a 40k-$60,000 vehicle. I told him I didn’t have that type of budget. He made me feel terrible I couldn’t afford a more expensive vehicle for my family. RJ told me he didn’t even have to disclose the French-fry he left in the glovebox as if ripping off customers is a joke to him. RJ said he was upfront with me on an issue with the truck so I didn’t think he hoodwinked me.
I couldn’t believe the conversation I was having with someone who considers themself a professional. I used the word Hoodwinked back at RJ in his argument about everything we had just discussed that’s when he said “I’m taking offense to the Hoodwink again” and ultimately ended the call. I used the word hoodwinked with RJ because he said it to me. Twice.
I ended up speaking with Waconia GM Brian Zovic. Zovic said RJ had a poor choice of words but ultimately wouldn’t fix my truck after he spoke with Management at SSP Fury. Thats all he had to say about RJ’s actions.
I would strongly recommend avoiding business with Fury Motors. Very unprofessional and unethical.

Brought both my new vehicles in for routine oil changes and the experience was perfect. Appointment was on time, service was quick, and prices were as competitive as anywhere in Waconia. Will continue to have all my vehicles serviced at Fury Ford in Waconia.
