Randy is a very accommodating person. I ended up with a lake view site with electric. What a beautiful spot!!!
Quiet and peaceful. Good size camping store for souvenirs and camping needs.
Looking forward to returning sometime.
Nearby activities: Campsite is on Lake Vermillion in Minnesota. Fishing, swimming and activities

The owners were great. The campsites were also very nice. We were right on the water and everyone enjoyed the lake. I would give this 5 stars but the bathrooms were in very bad shape. Not cleaned for a long time. Two very dirty showers in women's but they share a dressing area so must be very close to use both stalls.

This campground has turned into a seasonal campground. Sites are not designed for most trailers to fit.

Great camping experience!Campground host, Randy went above and beyond with pre-arrival communication. Escorted us to our campsite and delivered firewood. We love the location and privacy of the sites! We will continue going back but will be sure to bring a fishing boat with us next time!

This is the worst campground I have ever seen. Bathrooms are outdated and dirty, the campsites are very badly maintained and have no privacy. The beach area is terrible, found beer cans in the water, the water is so muddy and dirty that you can’t see anything including the trash you step on. The place was so depressing that we couldn’t stay there. We left without the refund. We were told that this campground is owned by the city and if you dissatisfied you can’t dispute with the people that were running the place... They charged our debit card without any problems but couldn’t refund without the city approval.

We are tent glampers and only book private campgrounds when state parks are unavailable. We've had some interesting experiences and while it's not our preference, Hoodoo Point was a very pleasant surprise. First of all, know that this place has been around for a while. That being said, also know that the wait list for this place is decades long. I know because our friends wanted to be on that list. Finally, understand that this is not glamping but it is a great place to camp. First of all, Randy (I hope I remembered your name correctly) in the office could not have been more polite or helpful, very nice and available for us, even delivers the firewood & ice! Be warned, his pups are frickin' adorable and we went there several times to visit them! Second, our friends bailed so we ended up having spots 1 and 2 at the beginning of the circle drive. While it was warm, it was actually an ideal spot aside from kids hitting the playground quite early in the morning. But hey, it's summer, I can sleep when it's cold and dark. It was nice to have a water spigot right at our sight, although it was well water - we brought our own drinking water. And while this area was experiencing a record bug season, we had almost none aside from dusk and dawn - how lucky! Third, this campground has a great beach! I enjoyed my Saturday coffee on my SUP kayak for 2 hours, it was glass! And our friends boated over to visit while the kids enjoyed the beach. Later in the day, the lake breeze was very welcome on a hot day with almost no shade. Fourth, since this place has been around for a while, the bathroom is dated but it worked fine for us. It was nice to go shower in our water clothes and cool down. My only complaint about it is that the outside light is too bright for my taste and lights up the whole area, could take it down several watts. The influx of money into the area from recent budget legislation has really made a noticeable difference and we can't wait to return to Lake Vermillion. LV state park is now combined into 1 with Sudan Underground Mine SP - there are 2 entrances. They're currently doing upgrades on the elevator and infrastructure, but LVST is incredible and shows the next generation of beautiful MN state parks. I will defintely return to this area and would stay here again if we can't get in the SP, which I foresee it being booked solid as soon as it's available, it's that awesome! Yes folks walked thru our campsite but we did not experience any off-leash dogs unless they were in the water. It is so rude though when bad fur parents don't pick up after their pets!

This place sucks:-showers are gross (only 2, one door)-toilets are barely cleaned (only two)-person running the place is not welcoming, made some strange remarks-non electric sites lack privacy: you share your site with someone else, that is, there is no division between one site and the other-sites barely have any shade-non drinkable water available-no place to wash dishes if you are camping-it is full of mosquitoes-garbage disposal sticks so badlyAll in all, this privately owned campsite is more expensive, less well-run, less well-maintained, and dirtier than the public state owned facilities and campsites nearby.

Very friendly staff. Campground is very neat, tucked into a peninsula. Some site are right on the water, and it looks like you can park your boat right there. Water and power at sites. Bathrooms and shower room are less than desirable. (They need a good deep cleaning and some updates). Easy in and out.

Just returned from an amazing trip to see family north of Cook and stayed at Hoodoo Point. The camp hosts, Randy and Julie, were friendly and helpful in every way. Each campsite is unique and charming in its own way. Lots to do in the area amidst the gorgeous weather and beautiful scenery. A must return for us!
