“Harbor Freight. You get what you pay for. Its not really pro grade but it is certainly good for the average Joe DIY-er. I always price compare them vs quality and end up at HF 4 out of 5 times for my need.”
“We need to support this store. They give old fashion customer service. So helpful and knowledgeable. Please don't let the big chains take over. It's so nice to have this store as an option to the big chains.”
“Appreciate having Ace close to home, without having to run to the big box store….unless of course they are out of what is needed. Love having the UPS drop off available. Just wish the dark haired lady working wouldn’t act like she hates her job. A few times dropping off packages, her body language suggests it’s a huge inconvenience for her. Poor customer service on her part.”
“Came in to pick up a giant oil pan from my online order.
While waiting at the register, a gigantic friendly dog from behind the counter walks up to me and greets me. After a few good scratches, it proceeded to stand on it's hind legs and hugged me. Dogs always make my day! I normally just use Oreily's in Big Lake, as it's closer to me, but if the dog was a gaurantee, I would definitely come here more often. Very friendly and polite dog.
Came in for an oil drain pan
Left with an oil drain pan, a new friend, and a heightened mood.
5 stars for good customer service, but also more importantly: dog.”
“I've never met or seen any of the 3 sons. Didn't know it was owned by 3 sons. However it's a dieing breed type business. Although I assume there's still some corporation involvement here. They try to keep the old school hardware feel alive. One thing that hasn't changed is. And this to me is exclusive to this brand hardware store. You don't shop here. No, you buy here. The moment you walk in you are 99% of the time jumped on with what they call customer service. Some may like it. I don't mind the typical hi how are. But with this chain it's hi can I help you find something. That's not a question? That's in going to follow you and stand over you, walk away but leer at you until you make your way to the register. Making you feel uncomfortable. Making you feel like they assume you're a dummy and don't know what you want or where to find it. Or here it is, let's go I'll ring you out. It's been 30 sec. Time for you to go. Kinda feel I've always felt.. now some of that might just be me. Let's be honest, I don't show like a choir boy when I walk in, and usually see women clutching their purse and children when I walk by. But at the same time I do look like I know what I'm after and need at a hardware store. Much more then the employee. I understand it's the way they do business and always have. But I do always feel pressured. And I don't like that. The staff are friendly. And do like to strike up a conversation. And I do choose to go over the big box brand usually. Even though many times I regret it once I'm at the register and see the cost. They tend to be 30% more on most things. Which now a days is hard to swallow along with the pressure and leering. If you can make it out of there for under$20. You really didn't buy anything. But that's what you pay for. Convince they call it. It's true there some of that. But it's fleeting in today's horrific economy. Nobody takes the beating for it. Certainly never the business. No like most things it's always the consumer. Joe or Jane public pay for it all. But for the small guy, the local business, and for the old school feeling of what once was the small local hardware store nostalgic feeling. Ib keep going back, and keep those 3 brothers in there big fancy homes and their let's feed. Just trying to do my part. In today's world that's all you can do. It's super local and know you'll never get anything in return. Accept maybe some leering. If attention is what you crave. All in all all jokes aside. They're better than home Depot. Cost more than Menards. And easier to find what you need than fleet farm. Look em up.”
“Bought some cattle panels and t-posts and had an awesome experience as two of the employees helped load and strap everything down. Great people and extremely kind and a great price.”
“The best part about any home town hardware store is the ability to buy a single nut, bolt, or screw. This place is that kind of store. You also will find the staff friendly and very quick to offer help. Great place.”

Hayden greeted us and helped educate us on which paint is best and helped steer us in the right direction for best color. Was so patient being with had our 1 and 2 yo with us. Really appreciate the help, we were completely clueless on what to choose.”

I showed my plans from Pintress to a few employees, and they suggested that I see Josh Herrick. Josh was fantastic! He cut the wood to the correct sizes and made suggestions to improve the design. He also found some clearance wood that was cheaper and treated! I was able to make two boxes for 1/4 less than one! Wonderful experience! I got his card!”
“I have purchased many things from the Rogers MN store. Was just on phone. Taking to a wonderful sales person. They were so knowledgable answering my questions on phone. About their chainsaws. I live in the country so it is refreshing to be treated so well.”

“We recently purchased a new home in the area and I must say Home Depot is better than Menards and Lowe’s. I am always asked if I need help and when I do they are always very pleasant. In addition, management is outstanding! Royce and Jeff go above and beyond!!”
“Excellent customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and they asked me if I needed help finding anything. In a big chain store, you feel like you're lost. At Hardware Hank, they know how to treat you with customer service”
