“My son and I were on a cross country trip from Seattle to Boston when the purge valves on the emissions system of our 2004 Subaru Forester failed. We were just outside of Minneapolis and based on other reviews opted to try and see if TGK in Eden Prarie could squeeze us in on short notice so we could continue on our journey. I called late in the afternoon on a Wednesday and the shop agreed to see if they could resolve or issues the following morning. I dropped the care off at 8am. Check in was smooth as all of the information from the call the night before was in the appointment. By 10 am the diagnostic had been done and I was sent an inspection report and estimate for the needed repairs and recommendations for some others. I called the shop and and after a brief discussion with the service advisor I approved the necessary repairs and they assured me the repairs would be completed by the end of the business day. I have worked in auto repair for the past 26 years and the report I was sent was by far the most professional I have ever seen. Thorough and understandable with digital photos no less. Around 4:30pm I received another text and email advising that the repairs were completed. After a brief text exchange I was sent a link to pay the bill online and arranged to pick up the car after hours. After a full day of taking in the Mall of America and doing my best to keep up with an 18 year old on all of the rides in the amusement area we took a Lyft back to Eden Prairie and picked up our car. The repairs were all completed as detailed on the report and we happily motored on to Boston without further mechanical trouble. My only regret is that we live in Alaska and my son is attending college in Boston so it is unlikely that we'll be able to use TGK for repairs in the future. Our experience with TGK - Eden Prairie couldn't have gone any better.”

“We were referred to The Phoenix by friends, and they have not disappointed us. The first two times we went there for small issues, but estimates from other shops were $300-500. The first issue they solved for $30, the second for $40. Today, my husband took his Subaru Imprezza to The Phoenix after the dealership told him his car needed almost $1,000 worth of service. They said he needed transmission fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs, some filters, and a few other items. We then took the Subaru to The Phoenix to see what they'd estimate for this work. After looking over the vehicle for 4 hours, they called to say the vehicle needed NO work at all. They found a small electrical issue that caused the 'check engine' light to go on and off, and fixed that. When we went to pick up the Subaru, they said 'no charge.' Really???? I expected at minimum a charge for the time and labor - but the mechanic said, "I'd love to take your money if there had been any real work to do, but there was nothing that warranted billing you for." They could have told us anything, they certainly had every right to charge us for their time - instead they went miles above the 'honesty and integrity' bar one hopes for when having service done. Can't recommend highly enough. This is how you get lifelong clients.”
“Went to valvoline to get my headlight bulb replaced but they told me they couldn’t do it being they had to take off the bumper. Then I went over to Grease Monkey in Eden Prairie and the manager, Lucas, within 10 minutes got my bulb in and inspected the rest of my Subaru legacy. Lucas and his team are knowledgeable and efficient. Thanks a ton!”

“John and his team deserve your business. I never leave Google reviews, however, after the experience I have had, it needs to be done. I have a fully paid off Subaru with a little over 100K miles. I have taken the car to Turbo Tims and a shop in Maple Grove. Both shops quoted me around $3K to fix leaking valves. Turns out, I need valve cover gaskets replaced not valve covers. The job is $600 not $3,000 that was quoted from the other shops.Today I went to Blvd Autoworks in NE Minneapolis. I needed my left axle replaced. Was quoted >$500 for this and was told my breaks needed replacing which Blvd quoted me almost $800 for the front two break pads and rotors. I called John and asked him to quote me for both the axle and breaks. His quote was $300 less total. I googled the parts and Blvd up charged the price of all parts.I get to John at Lowry Repair Center and they show me the parts and the condition of my breaks. They did not recommend a break exchange and showed me that all four break pads were 5 mm at least.Honest and trustworthy guys, fair prices, and free education. I could not recommend them more. Give them your business, save your money and prevent yourself from being tricked into outrageous prices elsewhere. Go to Lowry Repair Center. His team will be getting my business going forward. I appreciate the money that they saved me and the education and time they spent teaching me about my car.”

“I have taken my bug to many shops, and even the VW dealership has sadly screwed up my car many times in the past. My poor little bug broke down on me and wouldn't start. I had it towed to the Volkswagen Man and OMG best little shop just for Volkswagens ever! I sadly needed a new engine, and they went above and beyond to help me with getting my car back up and running and in the budget I could afford. They kept me up to date on what what was going and they even showed my old engine and all the damage. I'm so grateful to have found this shop and will forever be my now go to with my car because ever other place has caused trust issues.”

“My Prius had a noise which was noticeable when driving over 40mph and got louder when turning right. Southdale Firestone in Edina near my house misdiagnosed it as front suspension replacement $1600, which was done and the noise was still there. Next was a BP gas station shop on hamline and grand in St. Paul diagnosed it as a defective transmission and recommended replacing it with a new one. They said it has a CVT transmission and continued to tell me that cvt stood for constant velocity transmission. I don’t know too much about transmission but I do know cvt stands for continuously variable transmission. I ofcourse didn’t go with there recommendation and decided to get a diagnostic from Richfield transmission. They were upfront about there diagnostic fee and were efficient in finding the root cause. Turns out it was the right front wheel bearing. Replaced it and no more noise. Thank you Richfield transmission for doing an excellent job.”
