Nice little shop with a friendly and helpful staff. And it's easily accessible to the western suburbs of the Twin Cities.

I wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for the thoughtfulness and caring Gila and her staff showed me when I entered her store. When I explained the issue I was facing with my project, Gila jumped in and provided invaluable assistance. She was knowledgeable, patient, and willing to go above and beyond to help me.I was impressed with the store itself; it's beautifully organized and well-maintained. The ladies working there exhibit outstanding professionalism and a can-do attitude that makes the shopping experience all the more enjoyable. In a world where exceptional customer service can sometimes be hard to find, Gila's dedication to helping customers like me is commendable. Thank you for your excellent service!

I went to this little yarn store the first time and the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. It's a small place but they have an excellent selection of Rowan yarns and other great things for your projects. They offer classes and social knitting hours at the nearby brewery. Stop by and check it out. I'm sure you won't leave empty handed ;)

I visited during the Yarn Shop Hop (2022). I witnessed someone who was working there yell at an older woman to stop taking pictures of the yarn. The older woman needed the right color and didn't know how she was going to remember what she looked at or what would work without the pictures. The employee stayed firm with no pictures. I left the shop without purchasing anything, including the yarn from the special project which I was my plan. Anyone who would yell at their customers for researching colors and yarns for a project probably should not be in working at a yarn shop. I wish all the other reviews of negative customer experiences didn't make sense with my experience.Thankfully we are blessed with several other amazing yarn stores in the twin cities metro area. They even help you to find the best yarn and colors for your project and aren't going to yell at old people.

This locally owned business has it all! Great customer service, great quality yarn and many learning opportunities. It has become a great community for fellow knitters as Needle & Skein offers project Knit-a-Longs and open knitting. I ❤ knitting. I ❤ Needle & Skein. #SupportLocal

Are you kidding me? The two employees (one was the owner) acted like I was a bother. This was my second attempt to buy yarn there and the first experience was equally as sad. Little did I realize that my face showed my 3 time failure of high school Home Economics. Never again.RESPONSE TO OWNER'S COMMENTRe: "It is not part of our [Needle & Skeins] mission or values, to make anyone feel they are a bother", MY RESPONSE TO THAT: Grandpa used to say: "All Hat, No Cattle".Mission/Value Statements without implementation are meaningless. I stand by my comment/feeling that I felt I was bothering Needle & Skeins. An occasional customer should feel as welcome and be afforded the same treatment as a customer of many years. As for your partial skein/bargain purchase grifter inference, l've never asked a retailer, save and except the Mercedes dealership, for a discount; and as for "finding what I was looking for", yes I did, sans any sales assistance, see attached receipt. It's not about selling yarn, is it? Isn't it about helping someone create a knitting project they can be proud of.

What a marvelous shop! Just moved to the area and Gilah and Kathy were so friendly and helpful - store layout pleasing and best part: quality yummy yarns!! I am so grateful to have found such a great LYS near my new home - feeds my soul ... knitting is my yoga and keeps me going. Sourcing supplies from this shop will definitely be part of that! Looking forward to popping in on occasional Wednesdays- for the Stitch-A-Longs with Gilah... and likely a class in the future. Thank you again... Gilah & Kathy!

I have nothing but great things to say about this store! I am always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. The staff is very knowledgeable and offers helpful suggestions. I could not have made it through the pandemic without Gilah and her staff.

Very very pleased with how this shop is run by Gilah! A lovely and inviting environment with many choices for knitters and crocheters alike. Never felt as included in a yarn shop as I do here. The staff are knowledgeable about anything that may be new or incoming for Rowan, and I’m very glad they are a flagship store! Keep up the good work ladies!

Arrogant, condescending, and rude. I was told not to feel a skein of yarn because "I have to sell it" . I was doing no damage to her merchandise. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP. This retailer is very rude to her customers and will not allow them to touch the yarn. I spent $200because I didn't feel well today and wanted a project but I will never go in that she again. RUDE! CONDESENDING AND ARROGANT I have been knittingfor 60 years and haveNever been treated so rudely. Stay away from this shop.⁹
