We went in for an appointment with our cat last week. Waited in the exam room for over half an hour and nobody came and talked to us or checked in with us letting us know they are running late. We left never seeing anyone. Our cat was stressed at this point. They never bothered to call to check on us or to make things right. We will be looking for a new vet.

My dog needed an ultrasound. I called and they got me in immediately. He had a mass and needed surgery the next morning. Surgery was close to $3,500.00. The next day his stitches were bleeding brought him back as they said the Vet wanted to look at him. He never did. They redid his bandages because the other ones slipped. Of course that was another charge of $50.00 A couple days later he was really tired, wouldn't eat, started throwing up. I called them and told them he was bad. Nobody called me back. I had ro call 3 times finally they said they couldn't see him until the next day. Right away the next morning I brought him in. I need help to get him out of my car. They got him in the office and he passed. I told the vet nobody would call me back. He said he told them to have me bring him in. The people I talked to on the phone said they were leaving messages for the technician? This was a horrible experience. I felt like you took my money and after that didn't give a crap about my dog. No after hour or emergency numbers nothing. Plus the another $250 to get him cremated. They sent a biopsy out never got the results. Had to call again which they wanted to call me back. I said NO you don't call people back. Would never trust this place again. This was so devastating. Do not take you pets here if you love them.

Dr Nelson refused to due emergency surgery on my sweet Gracie, sent me home with hundreds of dollars of pain meds knowing damn well she wasn't going to make it through the night. She died that night, in excruciating pain

JEFFREY NELSON DVM was the most compassionate veterinarian! He did an outstanding job at explaining the circumstances and the outcomes. He did not make us feel like he was being held up or inconvenienced by our uncertainties. Thanks to the assistants at Granite City Pet Hospital as well, for the compassion they showed while having to put a very loved guinea pig to sleep today! RIP Mocha ?

Listen to the newest reviews and the bad reviews. Bring your pet anywhere else.
I've tried calling mulitple times, left multiple voicemails and never get a call back. I need my dogs staples removed after a surgery and i can't even get ahold of them to get them removed. Had my dog labeled under tooth surgery for a broken bone. I've only been here three times and all 3 times they've screwed up. Told me to remove staples after 2 weeks but the paperwork says literally 5 days after. There hasn't been a single thing they haven't screwed up on. I do not recommend at all.

I was sent here through a foster program. I'm sure there are fine clinic and mistakes do happen. But they gave me a prescription for carprofen at one tablet twice a day for 5 days And it should have been a half tablet twice a day. That is kind of a big mistake when it comes to a 9 lb puppy.
I just didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from them that I get from walking into other vet clinics., but maybe that's just my own personal experience.

I called Granite City when my cat lost the ability to walk more than five or six steps. Even being a new patient, they got Mokey (Smokey) in quickly. They were so compassionate and really cared that he was in pain. They examined him and diagnosed him,
keeping our finances in mind, without limiting his care. Being he is such an elderly cat (15yrs), I was expecting to hear the usual- that it was just time to put him down. But he still has so much life in him. He just suddenly is experiencing pain. But he's still my same old Mokey. Well, they put the time and care into him and came to the same conclusion. I am so grateful to the entire staff for having such big hearts and giving me more time with 'my favorite guy' ! These folks are awesome!

This companies only concerned with money. Money money money. They don’t care that someone’s dog is suffering and in pain. Even though the dog had gone to this vet its whole life. They would not put the dog down without payment right now. So unfortunately the beautiful sweetest boy suffered horribly before passing 24 hours later. The staff should be ashamed of themselves. I get it’s a business and things cost money but no way it costs that much to just inject him and let him pass peacefully. You would have been paid within 24 to 48 hrs. Disgusting you let an animal suffer like that. Absolutely heartless humans. Shame on all the staff.

They were respectful and caring when I had to put my cat Sophie down. The vet doc and techs were awesome. Thank you all. You made it hurt a little bit less.
