I was very impressed with my 1st experience here. The repair was done quickly and priced very reasonably. The 2nd experience was far from that. Not only was I overcharged for a diagnostic scan but was given an estimate that was 10 times higher that what it cost at a different shop. As I was being told over the phone the price of the parts I was looking on-line at the prices being quoted. He actually was pricing each part $300-$400 higher than the listed prices at 2 different parts stores in town. Then when I said I was not going to repair my vehicle he offered to buy it from me for a ridiculously low dollar amount. I wouldn't recommend this shop to my worst enemy. They should be shut down

I took my car in there to diagnose a clanging noise. They told me it was the water pump. Quoted me 560 dollars to fix it. I declined. Knowing it is literally a 45 minute replacement. Because that is what it took me to change it in my own garage. Water pump 29 dollars. The noise is still there. I called and asked them how they came about the decision it was the water pump. They said they took the belt off. And clanging was gone. So they guessed it was water pump. They also told me the bearing on it was out and the shroud was rubbing. When i replaced it. The original was just fine. Sure am glad that I didn't pay their quote. So then I replaced the power steering pump. Also not that. But.. it was getting weak anyways. They charged 160 bucks for bad expert advice. Doubtful I will be back.

I have went here a few different times so has my Husband. We have had very different experiences, he is always treated with respect and they call and keep him updated on progress and quotes. Me I am called by the wrong name constantly, I have to call to get updates and even don't get quotes when I ask for them. I have used them because they are a convenient location for me and my husband gets good service but this last time was the final straw for both of us. I am beyond frustrated with the way they do business towards me vs him. Now I can't say why its different with me vs him but many MEN have told me their thoughts....I will leave it there. If you want a professional business to work on your car please go elsewhere because this is not the place for you.

Drive away! You don't want to do service here!! Seriously... I'm a local resident, age 48, live on a farm and I'm being totally truthful.
In Dec I had a battery and alternator replaced, had the alternator replaced in Jan again as I was left stranded, had the alternator and battery replaced again in Feb!! It was so difficult to be without a car for so long! I spent an extra $1400 on rental cars and tows when I was left by the side of the road over and over. One time Jim said he'd come in his tow truck to get the car, as it's their fault, and he took a week and a half to pick it up from the gas station it broke down at!
** All they said was... "oh we put in the wrong alternator." I think the scam is that every time they charge the parts co. $700 for labor. I have a Chevy Traverse so it's definately a common car and they should easily know the needed part.
Their labor is extremely expensive per hour. I paid almost $1000 for the $230 alternator installation and battery which makes their labor the most expensive in the whole area.
They also told me that I needed more repair because my engine was leaking oil. Cost estimate for them to repair $2700.
Thank God I was fed up with their horrible repairs and mean customer service by then and went and got a second opnion!! I took it to a dealership and they degreased it, drove it and ran it for over 2 hours. No engine leak at all. None!
C.A.R.S. is NOT to be trusted. Drive away!
Save yourself the extreme stress of dealing with Jim's rehearsed lectures, scams and lies.

I was disappointed. I had a battery tested and a new one put in. They also changed a bulb on my trailer and it cost $480. When I asked about $125 for a bulb replacement, they backpedaled but weren’t willing to adjust the price. I wish I had gone to my regular mechanic.Service: Battery

Be prepared to fork over $60 just to clear any dash codes you may have when he makes the repair. When confronted about it he says he charges that for everyone. quick $60 for the owner. No one else in the Saint Cloud area charges to have a warning light to be reset. It was an itemization on the bill. An add on charge. From what I hear he has always done this.

I have been getting my vehicles serviced here for years. I trust them and they are dedicated to the work they do. The only mechanics I trust in central MN.

I was passing through town and needed AC help and, though I don't remember the young man's name, he was AWESOME. He did what he could to keep me on the road and told me what riser needed to be done in a simple, easy to understand way that didn't leave me wanting (other than for the fix that I didn't have time for, but he was eager to do).I recommend C.A.R.S very highly!

When picking up our car after being serviced, three times it has been @ $100 more than they said on the phone. Service is not friendly. We were also told a certain thing was leaking and needed to be fixed. When we decided to take it elsewhere, this was not true. There was a different leak. Go elsewhere for more professional, friendly, and honest service.
