As a lapsed amateur musician, it often feels like a daunting task walking into a shop, fearing being bombarded with knowledge and jargon far beyond my own reach.
LaVonne has always been welcoming and friendly in a way I haven't experienced before, and because of this, they have a customer for life in me. Thanks for the great set-up on my new guitar, and repairing my other years back. Go here only if you want a wonderful experience!

I recently joined a ukelele club and am a total beginner. I have been using a loaner owned by the club but I've decided to commit to learning this instrument and went in looking to make a purchase. No one approached me as I sorted through their pretty good selection looking for one with a tone I liked. But when I was ready to talk business, they were ready to help. Helped me put together a package with a gig bag, tuner, capo, etc. Wasn't cheap, but I am happy with my purchase. A fun shop with people jamming together at the front of the store. Will go back if I ever need anything else even though I live in Ham Lake.

Lavonne’s is the best place to go if you want a variety of guitars to choose from! They have much more than guitars, and the owner, Pete, was so helpful to me as I am just starting out, never having owned a guitar before myself. He was a wealth of knowledge! My husband always came here for his guitar needs so I knew that this was a place you can trust completely! They know what they’re doing when it comes to their products, and can explain anything and everything to you.You won’t be disappointed!!

This store is a gem, an independent music store with helpful and knowledgeable staff, a friendly atmosphere, and lots of instruments ranging from inexpensive to high-end. I have also used their instrument repair services, and recommend the craftsmanship and prices.

It's hard to find mom-and-pop shops these days with helpful people but Lavonne Music is one of them.They answer the phone, and have answers or will try to find them. Pete and co. know their stuff and will kindly take the time to help.Most of the time they will have what you need, I'm always amazed when I call up thinking there's no way they will have some particular item in that small shop, but lo and behold they will usually dig it up, and prices are the same as what you'll see online or in the chain stores.The only complaint I've seen about this shop is that at certain times they are so busy helping folks and chatting with their customers that you may have to wait a few minutes to get their undivided attention -this is true - and a good sign- it means they are popular and have a loyal following for a reason.I'll happily wait.
