I stopped into the lobby with a deposit slip filled out and ready to make a deposit. I stood waiting for someone to help me for 10 minutes. Nobody was in line in front of me. There were three people that I saw working. One was helping the drive thru, 2 were in offices.Nobody was dealing with another customer and nobody came to help me for 10 minutes. So, I left and went to the Burnsville branch that actually pays attention to its customers.

I took a mortgage out recently from Stu at Associated here and it was an absolute disaster. Somehow even though I asked for a 30 yr fixed rate mortgage I ended up with a 5 yr fixed with a balloon payment. No one ever warned me that was the case and I didn’t find out until I received my cost to close a couple of days before closing. They also waited until the last minute to do most of my loan processing pushing the closing back and almost costing me even more money through other screw ups. DO NOT USE THIS BANK. I have my loan through them only because I didn’t want to possibly lose the property my wife and I were buying from having to push back close dates when I found out about the balloon payment. Some shady stuff here. I hope this helps those looking to get a mortgage here.

Started banking here almost 2 years ago. Love the small town feel of this bank. Most people know me by name when I walk in or go through the drive through. I've always had great service and the staff go above amd beyond.

I have heard many things about this bank's unethical loan practices and now I have seen them for myself. Avoid this bank at all cost. Associated Bank services my mortgage loan. This year I wanted to prepay my taxes. I called their loan department to find out if they would suspend my impounds for the year if I prepaid or what I needed to do. I was advised that I would have to continue my impounds but that after the dates the mortgage installments were due they would confirm they were paid and then send me my refund for the overages. They did this after my May installment. After my Oct tax payment date I called Associated Loan services where I was told they no longer will send the overages I will have to wait until next May. That gives them my money for 18 months. This is not what they told me when I made my initial call. They can confirm that my taxes are paid. They can confirm that they have all that money in my escrow account as an overage. They originally told me they would refund after confirmation of tax payment and now they will not release my funds.

This bank has a TON of fees associated with it. Truly "Associated Fees" instead of Associated Bank. I'm only still here because I've had an account with them since I was a child and don't know of a different bank yet that's better. Trust me I'm looking. For my savings account if I don't put money in it or take money out each month so there's activity NO WORRIES they take it out for me as a fee and keep it themselves. BUT I can't close that account ... Because that's a fee. My checking they have an overdraft fee of $35 that's fine. But then they also have a daily overdraft fee of $7 for each day that you don't have your account positive again. AND if your check is automatic deposit and they have it "I confirmed with payroll" and it's just processing, they will hold it for 24 hours just to charge you another $7. Not to mention it is my account that I opened but when fraud was committed they couldn't speak to me, they demanded to speak to my husband. I'm still livid and debating what to do about that as I have all of that on file. 😡

Brought in money, they set it down in their drawer and lost $2... Not a big deal but when it's my tip money and it's all I get it really blows. Now it's $4 of my tip money gone BC I had to reimburse the $2 the bank lost. Way to go guys.
