“This rural Catholic Church with Polish roots is situated in the small town of Opole - home to Polar and Bialka's Bar and Convenience Store. The stained-glass windows feature different Saints, and the Church features a unique partial baldacchino (canopy) over the high altar. You won't find many rural churches with a baldacchino. There are side altars featuring Mary and St. Joseph. Below the St. Joseph altar is another unique feature - a tomb-like space with Christ laying in repose. This is only opened once each year, during Holy Week.”
“In December 2019 I was staying at the Salvation Army homeless shelter, I was addicted to drugs and completely hopeless and thought I was helpless as well. “St. Francis Xavier is a very welcoming community, with opportunities to grow in our faith, serve others of all ages, and engage with other families with similar values. I love that there's a variety of Mass "styles" so that I can choose whether to attend a more traditional service or a more contemporary one on any given weekend. There are a ton of ministries and ongoing activities for all ages, all year long. The staff is warm and caring and our entire family appreciates what a great church this is.”
