Loved, loved, loved my time at Stormcloud Trading! The staff were so helpful. They took time to teach a newbie like me about clasps and the best choice of wire and elastic. And an amazing assortment of beads! The only reason I won’t be coming back frequently is because I live on the west coast. But you can bet that next time I’m in town I’ll be visiting Stormcloud Trading Co.!

This was the best bead shopping experience I have ever had! Such knowledgeable staff and so very helpful to a novice bead stringer. I really appreciated the time they spent educating us and ensuring we got what we needed to be successful. Thank you and I will definitely be back again.

Literally the best bead store experience I’ve ever had! The store was well stocked and so organized. The staff were so knowledgeable and helpful. They spent time listening to exactly what we wanted to make and gave pro tips on how to get started-what a truly lovely store and amazing people!! ❤️ I will definitely be back!

Went here with my boyfriend to get some beads and string to make bracelets matching our eye color. Was very excited to come into the store, and the selection they had was very good, but the customer service skills were HORRIBLE. I have never been in this store before, but the bald woman who "helped" us was being very condescending as well as straight up rude and aggressive. She seemed impatient when I was trying to figure out what kind of bead/material I wanted, and she was pushing me to buy product, while being very passive aggressive in the process. I was scared to just say "I'm good, but thank you" and return my product to her, but I ended up leaving with said product, and to be frank, it's not what I wanted originally.... Left the store and sat in my car and cried. As someone who recently moved to St Paul and loves supporting local businesses, I am never going to go here again. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Rude, rude, rude... I would rather travel all the way to Bobby Bead in Uptown by bus then ever purchase anything from this store again. Very disappointed in the customer service and the nasty attitude from whoever rang me up

I would give less stars if I could. Followed, harassed and prejudices. This lady yelled at my son and I when we walked in what the store policies are, said children are not allowed here but will give me an exception but not next time. At this point I’m assuming prejudices at all levels. I just bought a house one block from here and we were exploring the local places. My son and I who love to support local business owners are never going back and I will warn everyone I meet to avoid this place. We were the only two people in this store. We were uncomfortable the whole time. She pushed us to buy things and stated no one is allowed to just browse without intent to buy. With that service I was so turned off that I hoped terrible things for them at this point. RUN AWAY!

The folks here were insightful and patient as I browsed for nearly an hour, excited to make my first piece of jewelry. They have so many gorgeous beads, all of which seem to be priced fairly. The fun, sarcastic, and kind personalities of staff are the cherry on top of this bead shop experience.

I was exited to shop here since it's close to my new place. I was hugely shocked when I walked in. Cultural inappropriate facade and had weird odor. Bead selection was ok and organinization of items were overwhelming and unfortunately the staff seemed a bit pushy. Don't feel comfortable enough to return.

I’ve been here only 2 times and felt very uncomfortable each time. I was followed around constantly, despite letting them know I was browsing and trying to be intentional about what I was buying. Followed for over 10 minutes each time despite white folks coming and not being followed.

I was followed around this tiny shop by a woman who insisted that she must watch or follow me to ensure that I find what I need. I finally handed her a basket that had several items in it and I left. People within the BIPOC community know this behavior very well. It's disgusting. It's prejudice.
All of the positive reviews are a reflection of how the wife and husband treat white people who shop there or visit vs how they treat the rest of us. It's passive aggressive. I am capable of buying every item in the store, but I would never spend a dollar there after my experience.
I have a recommendation for the owners, step into 2023 (almost 2024) and treat everyone that walks in those doors with the same respect that your white customers rave about. Learn that color, sexual orientation, gender identity are social constructs. We are all humans with cultures, and heritage that you sell you in your store in the form of products, but on the other side of those products are real people.

Searched online. Was exited to go- drive over 90 min to get there & the woman seemed like she didn’t want us there- barked her rules at us. Overall not the experience I would expect from someone wanting people to spend money on their product. 0/5 if I could. Rude lady. If you’re looking for beads I would NOT recommend this store.
