The aged was Meh. I'm paying for food not a super hipster, over-priced option just because you guys wanna wear a $400 apron for aesthetic.I can go to West St Paul and get better cuts of meat for half the price.

This place has great vibes and the employees are always friendly. Like Trader Joes but without the slightly unsettling dystopian undertone. And the meat is always excellent too! I moved to a different state and miss this place every day

It was my first time in & this place is great! In addition to having some amazing ribeyes and other goods, the staff was very kind and helpful. They set me up for a really nice party and shared some cooking tips along the way! Thanks again

So, here’s the story… After reading all the bad reviews about von- Hanson’s Meats. I knew I needed something better, so I did a little research and found this place. I had read they serve some deli sandwiches and I was hangry anyway, so my son and I ordered a couple of their turkey club sandwiches and two Virgil’s cane-sugar, root beers to wash them down. The sandwiches were delicious and The customer service from a very chipper young lady was, first class! we rarely feel this at home anymore when we go out. In addition to the sandwiches I bought some top-notch burger meat from a nice gentleman Kelly who was kind enough to send me home with a sample to try. Best service ever, so glad I made the trip. Thanks ST. PAUL MEAT SHOP! I will return hungry!!

Oh my what a place. Was waiting for a friend and had about 20 minutes to kill but needed food. Not fast food, ick. But something just as quick but better. Just then a light shined down from heaven onto the front door of The St Paul Meat Shop. Could this be the sign I was praying for? I went inside and not only did they have some choice cuts of local meat but they made me a brat. With sauerkraut and mustard! And no ketchup and they knew this because I'm pretty sure they were sent by the Lord Almighty itself. I left with a cut of cardamon chicken and a pork chop to bless the entire congregation of my house. I was a sinner and nonbeliever before but today I can proudly say that The St Paul Meat Shop made be a true believer, of meat and the power it holds. Peace be with you.

No doubt the food is good, but beware if you’re not ready! A Chicken Bacon Ranch with the smallest side of potato salad is just over $20. The bread is incredible! Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, with plenty of thick cut chicken and bacon. Tasty doesn’t seem enough - and the same is true fo the smoked potato salad. It’s all to go! The scenery around there (near Mcalester on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. Get a sandwich and enjoy a stroll.

This shop is a real find!! And the staff is amazing. On one of the busiest days of the year, there was a miscommunication (both ways!) and they went above and beyond to rectify the problem! The shop itself is small, spotless, and reminds me of my small town's meat counter. The meat is locally sourced and they even meat(?) their farmers!!And they have local eggs!!! Did you know you should get local eggs to ensure freshness? So I have a new meat shop!

Great selection, fair prices and friendly knowledgeable team behind the counter. Even received a cardamom half chicken on the house for being my first time in. The pork T-bones are crazy good. Chop was great as well. Excited to try the rest of what I brought home throughout the week. Everything I hoped for in a local butcher shop.

Customer service is not dead! Woo hoo! Great assistance from the store manager who suggested a pork shoulder instead of my usual pre-cooked carnitas (from El Burrito Mercado) for a crock of posole. Saved me a trip and gifted me with bacon? Really lovely experience in my neighborhood!

Super helpful staff in a relaxed environment. Great selection of local products - meat and otherwise. I gave Nick a budget and he helped me curate a steak night that was fantastic. Best bacon I've ever tried, hands down. I baked it in the oven, but don't think there's a bad method out there. Looked like it had too much fat, but it turned out to be pure magic.

I made the best beef bourguignon of my entire life yesterday, and it was all due to the truly exquisite chuck roast I got from here. It was perfectly trimmed, I didn't need to do much at all except cut it into chunks (which were so fall-apart tender even *raw* that I had to really give a good sear to try and hold them together!), and it took a whole hour off the braise time because it got to the tender stage so fast. Perfection!!!

Hey, I have only been here once so I can't really review, but their pork belly has its skin removed.I wanted the skin for a crispy slow roast, but I can't. It's not their fault I didn't ask, I just have to go somewhere else.

If you are expecting a good sandwich this isn't the place. A two inch thick loaf of bread and tasteless piece of cold ham with cheese. Overpriced on everything for a local shop. Had bought a dry age boneless ribeye and it wasn't even that good. Hyvee prime Ribeye was better and even there dry age.
