I've been a regular at Scott's for over 6 years. Moved to Grand Ave. 6 years ago and like the place because it is a convenient drive/walk from my place. Beautiful shop. Decent selection. But the customer service sometimes sucks. Young girls, pretty, but distracted behind the check-out counter either on their phones or on the point of sale computer internet. And sometimes some of the older employees act disinterested at check-out. I've noticed over the years that Scott's is never short on customers, but their employee turnover rate is noticeable. This may be because a lot of St. Thomas and Macalester students work here for a time and move on after graduation or for different reasons. Or it may be due to some mismanagement and neglect on the part of the owners. Kowalski's Wine and Spirits is a nice alternative to Scott's in the Macalester Groveland Neighborhood. Albeit not the same size store floor and selection but certainly a better shopping experience.

I’ve shopped there throughout the years, my most recent trip will be my last. I was in a hurry and had to grab a 24 pack of coors light for my softball team. Apparently the going rate for a case of coors light at Scott’s liquor is $39. I understand inflation but what are we doing here? $39 dollars?
