Both Tim & Erick did a fantastic job helping us with the purchase of our new vehicle! And believe me, we didn’t make it easy ? Very timely, accommodating, and we like the “family” feel of the team here ?✌?Fair price, great attitudes ???

I had a great experience at Schmelz. For a smaller dealer they have a really competitive inventory. I used the TrueCar service through my credit Union and found the exact vehicle I wanted, practically the only one in the metro. Plus, it was priced really well compared to similar models at Walser/Luther. I traded in a nice vehicle and they gave me an offer that felt fair for the condition of my used car. Jolie was an awesome sales rep! I did my research ahead of time but she still found a way to teach me some new things about the car I wanted. Absolutely knows Volkswagen models and features. Everyone was great to work with, never felt pressured and left feeling good about my purchase.

Is zero stars possible? It has been over a year now since I was car shopping, but the experience was bad enough that it has stuck with me. I went to Schmelz with my wife and son, extremely excited to be shopping for a new car. My family has owned Alfa Romeos since the 60's and I knew exactly what I wanted. I asked the sales guy to test drive it, but of course it was on "another lot." So I could test another car, with fewer options and half the price. But I could "get an idea" of what the car I wanted was like before we sat down and looked at numbers. He seemed to indicate that I could only lease the car I wanted, it wasn't for sale. I thought that was odd, but ok... Test drove the car. Smaller engine, downgraded stereo, etc. Shockingly, I hated it. While I was talking to another sales guy, he pointed to the car that I originally wanted, and 3 more like it, right next to the building on the side where we hadn't gone. So this guy never wanted to sell me a car in the first place I guess. We loaded back into the car and left immediately. An hour later I owned a new Nissan from down the street. I still want that Alfa, but not until Schmelz is out of business. Do. Not. Recommend.

Volkswagen Customer CARE case 200095902 I had a 2017 VW Jetta on a lease. It was at the 1/2 way point of the lease 2 years on a 4 year lease. It had 42 k miles on it and it had a major mechanical failure the clutch went out. There are no documented recalls, but if you go onto consumer reports there is a forum of people complaining about the clutch failure. I had the vehicle towed into the dealer ship where I bought it, this was the third vehicle I have leased or purchased with them. The informed me that this mechanical failure was called a "wearable part" and not covered under the vehicle warranty. One of the inexperienced sales guys told me over the phone that to refurbished my car for trade in it would be $7000, They told me I was completely upside down on my lease with the value of the car, the remaining lease balance of $6000 and the repairs. I then had my 2017 vehicle towed to an independent mechanic and he told me that all of the parts they use now are plastic and have a tendency to break and he has seen a lot of them. When the service advisor at Schemlz told me that VW Corporate would be willing to reimburse me for some of the repairs, I decided I should attempt to go that route. Then the service advisor told me that he wasn't sure what would happen, it could be over $3000 or more so he basically instilled fear in me and at this point I was using my sister's vehicle and needed to get her car back to her so I moved forward. I thought I would be out of pocket $1500 or less until he told me that. The sales people withheld every piece of information I asked for I should have just left the car and went into legal over the $6000 but I didn't at this point I didn't have a car to drive so I just took the recommendation of what they said to do. I rolled the $6000 balance from the old car into the new lease, which is so grossly unfair, but I did it anyway. They charged me $3000 for a $1500 repair they were reimbursed for by VW corporate. They charged lied to me and said my bill would be over $3000 or more then I received $1500 from VW corporate I demanded the repair invoice. I want a refund for the inflation and a settlement on the vehicle or the $3000 to be deducted from the lease amount. They also lowered my mileage from 15,000 to 10,000 per year without verbally telling me and I missed it when I signed the lease agreement. The lease person used tactics to draw my attention away from details of lease at signing.

I have worked so many years to build my credit with no late payments and then I leased a car with Schmeltz. It took 3 full months to get the financing. I wrote a check for the deposit and the first payment in January then when I was finally able to pick up my car March 3rd, when it could be first released, I paid a second car payment (though I am not sure why since I had already paid the first month) but they asked me for that and sadly I paid it. They gave me NO PAPERWORK ON THE CAR. It was my first lease so I did not understand what to expect. I gave them my new address to give to the financing company (when I finally tracked down the financing company and called them they did not have my new address, over a month later!) Still nothing came from them and I had no account information. I texted the sales person I worked with over 10 times asking where to pay and how so I could set up repeat payments and they were not able to get me that information. I have worked so hard to never have a late payment and my credit was good so when I checked my credit as routine monitoring and it said I was past due on this account I was very upset. Since then I have called or texted Schmeltz over 17 times with no resolution. I have spoken to Tom and Mo in financing several times with verbal agreements to send over information about the payments to the financing department. Today, after many contacts to both with no changes or clarity submitted by Schmeltz, I have no choice but to make it clear that this organization seems to have stolen my money at the cost of my hard earned good credit standing. I had been promised resolution by last week and they did not even call me back. I appreciate that the Sales person I worked with, Austin, attempted to help me with this and understand the financing is not his department but have been appalled at the behavior of the rest of the dealership!

My experience with Schmelz was nearly perfect. My key was getting stuck in my Jetta's ignition to the point where I feared I wouldn't be able to turn my car off. They ordered me parts after initially diagnosing the problem and explained everything very thoroughly. I needed to have a car to drive, so I picked it back up while I waited for the part to arrive. Then, my key got permanently stuck and I took it back in. The staff helped me figure out what to do and arranged a rental for me (which was tough because I'm not yet 25). Then, my car was ready even earlier than expected and everything is in tip-top shape! Johnny was such a kind, helpful, patient presence during this process, which was super important because of how stressed I was. I would definitely use them for repairs again!

I've put off writing this review because I don't want to slam a dealership because of 1 or 2 people, but now that I am at another dealership getting my oil changed, I can't help but comment on the glaring difference in my experiences. I went to get my oil changed at Schmelz about a month ago, and was quoted one price over the phone, but when I arrived for my appointment, I was given a different price. I told them about the original quoted price and they reluctantly agreed to honor it, but when I checked out, the price had mysteriously been raised again to the original price, due to "taxes and fees." I don't care about a few dollars, but I feel that this dealership is very sneaky and dishonest. I filled out a survey that was sent to me afterwards, asking me how my experience was, and I basically wrote what I wrote here, and the manager responded that I was mistaken about the original quoted price (I was not), and that they were more than generous in honoring my coupon. What??? I am now at a different dealership getting my oil changed for our other car, and they are honoring a competitor's coupon, and the service consultant added a tire rotation, inspection, and car wash, and even exclaimed what a great deal I'm getting! Schmelz needs to work on their customer service. If they keep customers happy with service appointments, they will return, maybe even to buy a new car. If not...

Brought my Saab 92x here for the airbag recall. Also had them mount/ balance tires I provided and gave it an alignment. I picked it up and paid a ridiculous $300 dollar bill, only to find out that the tires were NOT in balance and both of my tie rod boots were all twisted up and torn!!! On top of that, they changed my oil without asking and used pennzoil. Which is not what I want in my delicate EJ205. I left that place with more problems than before. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the neat video the service tech takes as he's inspecting the under body of the car. Never again will I trust a non-subaru dealership with my Saabaru.
