Mike (Roy's son), is about the most skilled, generous, hard-working, no-nonsense straight-shooter you're gonna find around Saint Paul. It's just him & his sister running the place, so expect to make an appointment for at least a few days later. But when it comes it's worth it.
He saved me so much money & stress I'm basically never going anywhere else if I have the choice. Thanks for everything, Mike!

I have been coming to Roy’s for almost 15 years. My entire family comes here because this shop, while rough around the edges, is thorough and very fair. While you won’t find coffee and snacks in a shiny waiting room, you also won’t find pushy salespeople, dishonest mechanics, and predatory pricing. Plus, they have cute cats.

Fantastic service and very friendly! I drove in with a nail in my tire and they were able to plug it in under under 30 minutes for me. Would have cost me an arm and a leg elsewhere but they were fair and kind. Thank you!

Can't get any better than this place. They are honest, don't charge you for anything unnecessary, affordable, and works with you on what needs to be truly fixed. Customer service with top tier, family owned and it's just a really comfortable mom and pop kind of place.

Super knowledgeable and very fair pricing. Mike took the time to find out what the issue was on my Chevy Trax, and fixed the problem completely; an issue that 2 other mechanics in the area claimed they fixed but never did and they charged me an arm and a leg for the attempts/failures. Will definitely return here in the future! Thanks again guys!

I would 1000x recommend this place. Great customer service. I brought my car in on Friday morning before I had to go to work and even got a ride to work (which was so nice, and unexpected). I let the front lady know about my vehicle issues, and she took down my information. Later that day I went to pick up my car and it was good to go. I do have to bring it back to get my radiator fix in a few weeks. Economical and ethical. ☺️Service: General repairs & maintenance

The owner was so accommodating and got to my car repair right away! He fixed the grinding sound coming from my wheel area at a very reasonable price (another car place wanted to charge me twice as much)! I am so grateful for the GREAT Service!

Mike is honest and knowledgeable. He will only fix what's broken and won't charge you for unnecessary repairs. He was quick with service both times I've brought my car in and will explain to you what he found.

Mark and Barb are the real deal. If it's not broke, Mark won't fix it. He doesn't spend his time looking for frivolous ways to take your money.Ideas told by another service station that transfer case needed replaced. The mechanic let me put $1000's into my vehicle before she saw a heavy leak and noise in my transfer case. This essentially totalled my vehicle and she knew it. I stopped driving for 2 months. Then a friend suggested Mark at Roy's. Mark put it up on the house and let me look while he explained the wither to's & why-fors.A slight leak and no noise. He said it could just need the bolts tightened. Saved me $3200 the 5 star auto in st paul wanted to replace it with a used part.

This is a true mom and pop shop. Handed down from father to son. I had been disappointed with my dealership service department and got a friends recommendation to stop in here. I called to ask about a diagnostic and was told it was free to diagnose. Who does that anymore!?! I may not be a mechanic, but I am at least knowledgeable about my vehicle. After my diagnostic, Mike the mechanic and owner gave me a fair quote, talked to me like I wasn't an idiot and was super kind. He is one person, so it may take a few days for him to get you an appointment, but I would send anyone here. Honest and trustworthy.
