"There's no refill" even though MyChart says there is. "It's expired" even though MyChart says that it doesn't expire for another 10 months. Never going back. Too many lies.

This practice believes in putting the patient's needs first, before the pocketbook. Honesty and integrity is worth sticking around for... this is one trait that is extremely inconsistent to keep in business today and if you can find that, I say, stick with it, and the philosophy of all that comes with it!Phalen Pharmacy has always been a trusted source I go to for my medications, vaccines, or a place I recommend others particularly of Asian decent to go to. It's nice to be known by face and name! Their staff has always been respectful, and go out of their way to help me understand my prescriptions. They go the extra mile, and will even speak with doctors on your behalf if they think there is a better alternative for your meds based on your insurance and health history. It's honestly one of the most thorough pharmacies I've experienced!!Overall, if you want a pharmacy that is personable, cares about your phases of care, and bridging the cultural gap in healthcare, I recommend this place. Every place has things they are working on, but I can guarantee a mom n' pop independent pharmacy will have taken more time to truly understand you and your health history, AND advocate for you, than your big business chains (who are so short staff, they just want you in and out... like a fast food chain). So I hope those other's experiences does not overshadow the genuine work I've seen this pharmacy do.P. S. Not to mention it's right next to the Hmong Market, so it's a double win. Great meds, great food, great service!...P. S. S. It's unfortunate the different experiences of some reviewers, but during a time when healthcare workers have been expended and overworked beyond their limit, I hope you'll give them some grace... Also, fyi, med and med supply shortages have been a recent nationwide issue, so take that as you will... (Ok, off my soap box)

Very disappointed, my mom has been using Phalen Family Pharmacy for quite some time now but lately the service just poor. Her insulin, and blades for her blood sugar test ran out. We contacted the pharmacy multiple times but each time we called. Was told that she needs to renew her prescription which they said they will be working on it. Then we called again a week later and was told the same things, now they wants us to call her doctor for the renewal ourselves. Never had to call for prescription renewal ourselves when we with any other pharmacy.

We love supporting Hmong businesses so I have been picking up my client’s medications here for many years. It’s not a bad place to pick up your medications. They get the job done but my client has been having unresolved issues with them in the past few years. At this pharmacy:1. My client would get incompatible glucose strips for their device.2. My client would never get their full amount as prescribed by their doctor. After so many frustrating back and forths between my client’s doctor and the pharmacist here, my client decided to leave and use a chain pharmacy where they were able to receive their full quantities and compatible strips AS PRESCRIBED. Sure, this is an independent pharmacy and maybe there were supply issues but this issue has been going on since before the pandemic. They should have been transparent and suggested a different pharmacy if they consistently were having supply issues. And please don’t think my client hasn’t communicated their frustrations with the pharmacist here because they have. Also, the pharmacist made a “lighthearted threat” which I guess he intended to be a joke but it greatly upset my client. I think as a pharmacist, they should not make such unprofessional jokes, even if they don’t mean it or are “just joking” because of the family friendly environment. As much as my client wanted to stay here because they can’t speak English, it is unfortunate that my client had to leave over these issues.

Very disappointed in the services at this pharmacy. My mom gets her medications from this pharmacy to support the Hmong community and it’s also easier for her to communicate with the staff there that can speak Hmong. When she needed her insulin filled because she was traveling out of state and forgot her insulin at home, I tried to get her medications forwarded to another pharmacy to get filled. They picked up the phone but said can I call back because they’re going “to close soon.” When I asked her to just do it the following morning, she said she couldn’t tell me when they’d be able to do send it even if it was the following day.I’d hope this would be a pharmacy that would provide superior, or even at minimum, the equivalent customer service of regular drug stores. As a physician, I know that I get requests from pharmacies asking me to authorize medications for patients whose refills have ran out. It is even done electronically so it doesn’t even require a staff member to call a clinic. Your staff never offered this but instead told me to call the clinic and ask the doctor for a refill. As for forwarding a current script in your system, if you’re open and working, why can your staff not do it right then and there while we’re on the phone or even say, “Don’t worry about this, we’re closing soon and won’t be able to do it tonight but we will make sure that we take care of this first thing in the morning!”As a pharmacy, do you not realize that patients not only get hyperglycemic, but they can go into DKA requiring hospitalization when they don’t have their insulin? As a community business who works closely with the Hmong community, don’t you feel some inkling to try to help your non-English speaking and elderly community members get the medications they need? Perhaps have your staff try a little harder.

Great friendly service on prescriptions, refills. Staff was very knowledgeable and took time to answer questions. Phone app makes refills super easy and convenient. A little bit of a drive for my family but we got all our vaccinations and boosters shots there. Again, they took time to answer questions and concerns we had on the vaccines and we’re very comforting to my kids who were afraid a needles.
