Great selection of all genres. I found copies of Mike Hammer, Edge, Martin Beck, some other obscure Penguin crime novelists, and more. Prices were good, some over, and some under the going market rate. But that is what is fun in shopping at the small friendly book stores!

Chuck, the bitter old man that "RUNS THIS STORE", is the most unprofessional and aggresive employee I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with.I emailed the owner about a book that was purchased that was labeled as first edition and was $60. Upon getting it home, I noticed that one of the front pages had writing on it from a previous owner, and had I seen this originally I would not have purchased it. The owner said she was out but to go back to talk to Chuck who would look it over.Well, instead of doing that, Chuck decided the best way to go about solving a problem was to scream at me before I could get more than I full sentence out. I said "Hi, I'm here about the book with writing, about possibly returning it" and he INSTANTLY became hostile, claiming there's no return policy (even though the ACTUAL owner did not say that in her email to me), that "all old books have writing", that "the person who bought it had several chances to look it over", etc. I asked him if he could act less aggressive towards me and he did not back down in the slightest, he also claimed that it only sold like 10,000 copies, and when I told him it's sold millions of copies (which you can easily fact check this on wikipedia), he didn't believe me, and said he would not be looking it up when I suggested he could do so.At this point I decided to record so that if needed, I could prove to the owner how extremely rude this man is acting towards customers in her place of business. I also asked why he felt it was appropriate to yell at his customers, and he said that I "don't know when to stop" and that he "doesn't care" and "doesn't need my business". I also asked him if he owns this store and he kept yelling "I RUN THIS PLACE" and refused to give me the owner's number, was flippant when I said I would continue contact with her via email then, and threatened to call the police on us.Save yourself the trouble and don't shop here. Something needs to be done about this horrible man and based on other negative reviews, this isn't the first time he's acted this way.

A terrible shop run by a greedy old has-been.My girlfriend saw a book in a glass case that matched her interests. I stopped by later to buy it as a surprise gift. The grumpy man who mans the counter and spends all day watching Netflix wouldn't get the book and let me inspect it until I'd agreed to buy it. Once he removed it from its packaging, he spent the whole time I was looking at it saying how it was a first edition limited run print, a great collectors item. I looked through a number of the hundreds of pages and they all seemed in good condition. There was a little damage on part of the cover but I could forgive it. The man charged me $60.When I gifted it to my girlfriend, she looked through it and found some writing on a page I missed. We also looked into the book - its sold over 5 million copies and has had multiple reprints. Feeling somewhat scammed, we emailed the store and the owner (who is out due to surgery) said to come in and we'll talk about it.Well when we arrived this old man, still watching Netflix, immediately started yelling at us. He screamed that it was a collectible, that I "had a chance with it", that "of course they didnt have a return policy", that "all old books have writing in them". When we mentioned the book had sold millions of copies he said he didnt believe us; when we said we had emailed the owner he screamed "I RUN THIS STORE." He acted like a petulant child from the moment we walked in, making mocking hand gestures at my girlfriend and yelling "you dont know when to quit", and threatening to call the police on us.For standing there. Asking for a refund. Asking for anything. We asked for the owners number and he said no. I dunno if she knows that he acts like this or not.I was excited to find a local book store, and support a local business. Now I know this place is just a special little castle for a special little boy to spend his time watching his shows.Don't waste your money here.

Absolutely rude. I use to love this book store, but whoever answered the phone, ya… I’ll go to half priced books.

I enjoyed my trip to this little independent used bookstore - it is packed with books. There are even nice signs hanging up over each genre/section so you can figure out where to look. I was just browsing but I left with several books. The lady had her two dogs at work with her but they were calm and stayed behind the counter. There was no pet odor even though they look to be frequent visitors. There's just the lovely smell of books :) I will be back! * side note - It looked like there might be several cute shops or cafes on this street to visit as well. I can also recommend the post office nearby as the clerk was helpful and friendly. Make a nice afternoon of it!
