I don't normally eat Indian food but my son wanted to check it out so we chose Nepali for lunch. The ambiance is quite simple with no decor of any kind, and is attached to a well- stocked Indian grocery store. They have a small lunch buffet with 4 choices - 2 meat and vegetarian dishes plus biryani chicken and rice. We also added the sopas, a deep fried potato dumpling to our meal. We chose the tikka masala and butter chicken as our 2 entrees. The food was very flavorful and portions are generous.

The veggie momos were my favorite. The flavors and dishes were unique. They brought out melted butter to put onto my white rice which was *chef's kiss*. They couldn't have been nicer either. I recommend going out of your way and supporting a restaurant serving unlike anything else around it.

Says it's open at 8 AM. Got here at 9 am, and the store was still not opened. You never know when it's open or closed, don't follow the hours listed on Google.

My coworker suggested this place & I was very excited to try it. Nepali Kitchen feels like a hole-in-wall place where your aunties are cooking for you. The decor is no nonsense but clean. We came here during lunch on a weekday & we were the only ones there so it worked well for a lunch mtg & conversation. We were given hot tea right away which felt welcoming on a cold fall day. I ordered the photo-pleasing thali which comes with an assortment of items but the momos were the star of the show. The service was attentive throughout our meal. The food is vegan friendly too. I wanted to try more items so ended up getting the goat curry & noodles to-go. Noodles were slightly too salty but still ate it all. Goat curry was good. My coworker is from northern India & said this good tastes authentic & reminds her of home. High praise! As someone who aspires to cook Nepali & Tibetan dishes but hasn't invested the time yet to learn, I'm so glad this place exists! This place may seem slightly on the more expensive side, but everything is shareable & multiple meals so worth it! Check out this small local restaurant & make sure to stop by the grocery next store too.

We came here for dinner and really enjoyed it. It was table service during this time, not buffet, but I would still recommend it. We were offered a delicious complementary tea to start, which we all loved. The fried momo vegetable dumplings were amazing. Fried rice, chicken curry, and a fancy soup that I can't remember the name of we're all very much enjoyed.

I recently visited Nepali Market in Saint Paul and was impressed with their extensive collection of Nepali groceries. While the selection of fresh produce is not extensive, the store makes up for it with an abundance of authentic Nepali products. One notable item they offer is paan with "goua," a typical Nepali-Assamese-Bengali betel nut, which adds a distinct flavor.During the months of October and November, they import fresh "lapse" from Nepal, which is a delightful seasonal treat for Nepali cuisine enthusiasts. Overall, it is a pleasant grocery store with a friendly owner named Shiva, who is always willing to assist customers. Shiva's dedication to customer satisfaction was evident when I needed to return an item that my wife didn't like; he promptly issued a refund, which is not a common practice among many Indian groceries in the Twin Cities. To summarize, Nepali Market in Saint Paul offers a diverse range of Nepali groceries and authentic products, although the fresh produce selection is somewhat limited. With unique offerings like paan with "goua" and seasonal imports from Nepal, it's a worthwhile destination for anyone seeking Nepali ingredients. The store's friendly atmosphere and Shiva's commitment to customer satisfaction make it a top choice for Nepali grocery shopping.

This is a small market selling Nepali and Indian subcontinent ingredients. They have a solid selection of grains and spices which can’t be purchased at the big grocery store up the road. They also sell some cooking and washing utensils (rice cookers, pots, plastic tubs). They also sell coats and clothing. There is also some Buddhist religious paraphernalia as well. It’s not a pretty place, it’s a little cluttered, but they have a large selection and I was able to pick up some spices I needed at a decent price. One suggestion, other reviewers have mentioned that things aren’t labeled with prices,I just asked the cashier. He was really helpful.

Not stocked very well. Narrow aisles.Gives impression of a junk store. Won't return.
