Very happy with this bike shop which mostly I visit for once or twice a year I catch a nail and need a tube change. The last experience was great with such quick service on a Saturday and charged me less than $12, which is ridiculously cheap compared to other brick-and-mortar shops in St Paul.

Lowertown Bike Shop has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Big thanks to Jeremy for his expert knowledge and assistance. He was a great help when I was unsure about what to do. ?♂️?

I keep coming into this bike shop asking for service for my bike and today I brought in my bike for a small repair waited 2 hours came back into the shop and they never worked on my bike. It is like they don't like paying customers. Now I am walking my bike 2.0 miles with a flat and no back brakesThanks -_- for your help.Anyone who reads this just buy off Amazon and do it yourself.

I’ve been here a few times in the last few weeks with my girlfriend, needing different parts for my bike. The salesperson was very helpful and kind and explained things clearly. They have a good selection of parts and bikes. My girlfriend was able to get a bike within her budget which was fantastic. Most other bikes shops only sell high cost new bikes, which makes it hard for newer cyclists or people buying their first bike to get into it, without breaking the bank. This business is also a non-profit which is awesome. They invest back into the community through affordable bike and recycling of parts. They also serve coffee, which is awesome, because what kind of cyclist doesn’t drink coffee??I will be coming back and recommending this place to all my friends! Most importantly they have a cute dog in the store.

Walked in to the shop yesterday because it is within walking distance of my apartment (awesome). We were looking to get our bike serviced with maybe a wash and some lube, nothing major at all. They told us that a tune up would not be ready to pickup for "five weeks." We were a bit caught off guard by this estimate and made it pretty clear we would be taking the bike somewhere else. (It is not a problem that the tuneup would take that long, the problem came from the employee's response)The employee seemed a bit frustrated and said "well that's pretty much what all bike shops are dealing with at the moment."Lucky for me I had been around a few other bike shops that week to look for a new bike and knew that they were not backed up for weeks contrary to the employee's misleading claim.Long story short I took the bike in to another bike shop (sadly had to load it on to my car rack) at 11:00 a.m. and it is now 12:45 p.m. on the same day and the bike is ready to be picked up.I understand bike shops being busy in early May, but having employees who willingly mislead people in an attempt to trick them into not going elsewhere is absolutely Bush League.

I highly recommend this bike shop! Crystal and Jeremy helped me (who is completely bike illiterate) surprise my Husband with a bike for his 50th birthday. There were kind, patient and helpful. They have a great thing going and I hope they'll be around for many years to come. Oh, and did I mention they have an amazing coffee shop too and an adorable dog that you might be able to meet while you're there:)

Had a flat back tire, brought to Lowertown, they charged $11 Or $12. , was the only thing wrong with the bike except brakes they barley worked so they fixed the tire I rode out and about an hour later my back wheel stard moving to the left my gears was switching I called but they was closed left a message saying the man messed bike up literally like no riding, my guy said go act out snap get your $ back and make them fix it i was like they did fix it my tire isnt flat no more. So it took me a few weeks to bring it so they day before I got on the bike to check it again I was good then it started acting up tire rubbing from moving gears shifting by them selves and I had picked speed crashed scraped my leg arm real real bad I got it there next day the lady said she will check it when I got my Cadillac back she was in better shape than when I brought it in breaks works and it ride like a mf bike. I am very happy happy thank you

Lowertown Bike Shop sets the standard for how a bike shop should operate. The owners and staff are warm and inviting, and their inventory is curated with brands that they stand by. It's clear that they care deeply about the work that they do, so you can trust that they're not going to try to upsell you some shiny, expensive boiler-plate bike just to make a few extra bucks.I worked with them to build a custom commuter bike, and they blew my expectations away at every step of the process. They took the time to get to know me and my needs as a cyclist so they could build the perfect machine - and they did! They would call me during the building process to give me updates, and I could tell that they had a genuine passion for working on it and bringing it to life. This bike is now my primary mode of transportation, and it means so much to know that it was built by people who care. I don't think I could with clear conscience recommend any other bike shop.If you want a bike shop for life, this is where you go. Plain and simple.

I was disappointed when the Hub moved but these guys are pretty good. Fixed my bike same day at a reasonable price. Brought a couple bikes in for service and i have no complaints. Have to have some work done today (why do bike brakes have to be so complicated now?) so I will be heading back shortly!

This place is amazing! I've been going to this shop for about 7 years now and they never disappoint or try and haggle you into getting something you don't want/need.Staff is knowledgeable and very kind, they will ask what your budget is to make sure they give you choices to find what it is your looking for. They also have a section of used parts as well if your just trying to get a quick cheap fix.Bought my first "adult" bike and other then the occasional tune up it's still rides like a champ!I will be bringing my daughter for a new bike as well once her current ride gives out.
