The new CEO of this council has been extremely toxic as a leader. Bullying and retaliation are at their peak at the council. This is a very poor example for our Girl Scouts. So disappointed in the Board and the Executive leadership.

Thanks to performative inclusion and a complete disregard for employees, the new top leader is reprehensible in the running of GSRV.
Tons of employees have left due to her poor management and aggressive leadership. Several well qualified employees of the council with decades of experience were skipped over for a person who has no idea how to instill the spirit and compassion of the Girl Scouts mission. From making pregnant employees cry to spouting uplifting and misleading content on social media and threatening to fire people left and right, she has steeped the council in toxicity.
An effective leader brings people together and celebrates their strengths, she seems incapable of this. Please demand better conduct from leadership before signing your child up for this council.

Beautiful little shop had everything we needed for the brownies.. the only issue I had was either the computer/register system needs to be updated. It was giving the ladies a very hard time trying to ring us up..

Amazing staff and selection!! Staff will help you find anything and figure out any questions you have about products or how to use program materials. You can order ahead online and pick up at the front door too. Limited hours, but they are consistent!

The staff truly live out the Girl Scout values. I love these gals! The shop hours are not always convenient, but it's a great visit every time I go. Any time they are out of stock they are willing to write down the info and notify me when it's back.

This review is a long time coming, so please bear with me. In 2020 I contacted them about my daughter wanting to join. We had just moved to a new town, it was the middle of the pandemic, and my daughter was not in a good mental space so I thought it would really help her. First, I got ping-ponged between contacts, nobody seemed to know who I was supposed to email or call in order to sign her up. That should've been my first sign of things amiss, but I kept trying. When I finally did get through to someone, we were mid-conversation when the emails just completely stopped. Then, almost AN ENTIRE YEAR later, they got back to me... "sorry, I thought I had responded to this email". At this point my daughter and I had reached the point of so much frustration with them, that we didn't even want to be a part of this organization. She was completely let down by them, at a time when she needed that support & sense of community so badly. Now, I receive a fundraiser envelope from them, and they do not even have her correct name! I have also tried multiple times to unsubscribe from their emails, to no avail. The River Valleys group is incredibly poorly managed!! I still cannot believe all that they put us through. What a complete joke.

My co leaders and I call it the Money Pit because there are SO MANY GOOD THINGS. The staff is always friendly and helpful ? and you can find pretty much anything you need.

The staff are always so cheerful and happy to assist with any scouting related need! Volunteers are well supported. The council offers wonderful camp experience for the girls.
