This may be the trashiest Cub in the Metro. The parking lot looks like some ruined, post-apocalyptic rubblescape. Once you wade through the lot garbage under an automated Police speaker pole warning you of their impotent surveillance, you're immediately accosted by wasteland degenerates loitering around the front doors. If you loved Kurt Russell in Escape From New York and you thought, it'd be cool to have an experience just like Snake Plisskin, you'll love shopping at this Cub.

6:30pm on a Wednesday. Self checkout is closed, 2 cashiers in the whole store, so there were easily 30 people waiting in line. Maybe offer better wages and management so you can staff up? I put my stuff back and walked out because I didn't want to deal with it.

WARNING: DONT SHOP HERE IF YOU ARE DISABLED OR YOU SUPPORT THE DISABLED there is a target and an Aldi close by who accommodate way better than this cub. If I could give them negative stars I would because I can’t even shop here without an accommodation that they refuse to supply, even if they have all the carts available. The Target across the street would never treat a customer like this

How the mighty have fallen. This has always been the worst Cub but seriously, as someone who used to work here, this is pretty much unshoppable. Trash all over the parking lot, 2 cashiers on a Saturday, and a shut down self checkout with boxes covering the machines that nobody knows how to fix. Corporate greed has gotten out of control. Hire some people at $25/hr... Hell even $40/hr to clean up this cesspool, and check people out. Put customer service first again. End stage capitalism on full display. If you have to make less money as a corporation to have a better society then make less money.

They got rid of their self checkouts, and do not have the staff to make up for it. The last 3 times I've been in, the lines have been ridiculous. Will not be going back

I really feel for the hard-working employees of this store, because it has so visibly been mismanaged coming out of the pandemic. The store was remodeled to try turning it into an affordable Whole Foods - a sushi counter, a popcorn stand, a deli, and self-checkouts.
Those self-checkouts have now been closed for months with no sign of reopening. Despite this, management hasn’t adequately staffed up and only has three or four of the 8 lanes open during their peak hours, leaving customers to stand in line for 15+ minutes even if they only have ten items or less. The deli counter has one person to manage multiple desks and departments. Any time inventory has to be stocked, there will only be one or two lanes open.
It’s a convenient spot and the produce remains great. Unfortunately, I’ve had to pivot to the Falcon Heights location to avoid the continuous, ridiculous wait times.

Store closed down their self-checkouts and don’t staff their other checkouts enough. Spend more time waiting to checkout than shopping in the first place; save your time, shop elsewhere.

This Cub was pretty run down. There was quite a bit of trash and food waste on the floors, granted I did go later in the day. The main entrance was blocked off and I had to try to finesse myself and my cart through a manual single width door. The shelves and produce seemed decently stocked. The freezers had a lot of condensation on the doors so it was hard to see without opening them. I was surprised to find that the aluminum foil had been removed from the shelves. There was a sign saying to ask for it at the cash register but of course by the time I got to the cash register I forgot and arrived home aluminum foil-less. I was also approached by a stranger without a home who asked me to buy her some groceries and toiletries. A reasonable request… but doesn’t really reflect well on the store itself. I’d think twice before going there again…… buuuuut I still might go.

What went wrong here? Everytime I go it just seems to have gotten worse. The high prices don't match the quality, and the lines have become extremely long since they closed the self-checkout. It's not worth the hassle if it takes half an hour to pay, especially for just a couple of items. I ended up leaving my basket and going elsewhere. Hope they can fix their service!
