“I happened upon this fantastic bookstore while working in St. Paul from Texas. Was looking for antique shops to bring some gifts back to family. SO glad I stopped in.”

“Have been twice so far. Got to hear a new release reading and signing with the author. Parking is pay in the area but plenty available on non-sports days. Patrick was a kind host, clearly passionate about making this a lively little escape for book casuals and avid readers.”

“Really cool book shop with fantastic folx working there and very keen to help. I felt welcomed and valued, but also cool to hang out and read in their lounge area. Bought a book recommended by a fellow tutor employee, and loved the tin ceiling atmosphere. Highly recommend.”

“The staff here is amazing. My husband and I splurge on a new book every Christmas for ourselves, and we take turns looking while the other watches our kids. The staff made sure we were okay and made us feel comfortable hanging out in the children's section while the other shopped. They definitely made us feel welcomed. Can't wait to go back.”

“Best Bookstore in town. Incredible selection for very reasonable prices. Tom and the staff may at times be a bit on the gruff side, but I find that is fairly typical for used book shop owners. Just don't be a jerk and you will be able to nestle into this bibliophile's haven and community fairly easily. Tom and Cathy are active in acquiring new stock, I have been coming in for nearly 40 years, and can always find something new, needed or fascinating. A true Twin Cities gem. One of the few legacy hold-outs from the golden ages of Twin Cites used book stores.”

“Great for literature and staff picks, but wouldn't go there for economics, tech, sociology. Need to convert the logo sweatshirt store next door into a connected cafe.”

“Whenever I am traveling through the MSP Airport, I stop into this delightful little bookstore. The employees are actually readers who can provide information and qualified suggestions about their books, and although small, they have a remarkably wide range of fiction and nonfiction sections. Although obviously they charge full cover price, anyone devoted to supporting physical bookstores should shop here.”

“Explore Afar is a large convenience store inside MSP airport. I walked in to get some snacks and a soda during my long layover at the airport. You will find all kinds of snacks, drinks, sandwiches and other quick bites here. They also sell some souvenirs if you need one on your way back home for loved ones.Service is quick, and the price is the same you will find in any convenience store in an airport. I got what I needed here to survive the long wait.”

“I go here for the pharmacy. I have ones closer to where I live but, I tend to have problems with certain Rxs being in stocks. This place.....I've NEVER had a problem.”

“Every experience has been positive! Staff are quick to respond to online orders and are more than willing to help with any issues with orders! The only “downside” is that (not at their fault) because of the nature of the store being both in person and online, sometimes the stock availability changes after an online order is placed. Again however, staff are more than willing to help you find a new size or item. I would recommend them to any and all St. Kate’s alumna and family!”

“Boy I love book stores! On this occasion, I stopped in with my daughter who was looking for a book from a series she likes that we couldn't find at the library. We walked in, found a copy almost immediately, and it was even signed! In and out in just a few minutes, best $10 I've spent recently.”

“Was cleaning out old engineering and Safety books after retiring. Didnt want to throw them out as there was still a lot of good information there. Was told that Books for Africa took them and shipped them over to Africa by the container. For example they have sent 400 containers to EthiopiaThey ask for a 50 cent donation per book to help cover the cost of shipping but I was so happy to have the books put to good use I gave more.Great charity!”

“I always love popping into the U of MN bookstores. St. Paul campus may have a smaller store, but it still has a great selection of school supplies, fiction books, campus text books, and Gopher gear! All with friendly, helpful staff! Take your purchase and head out to one of tge many benches or green spaces on this idyllic campus and enjoy!”

“At first glance, one might think Common Good Books is a store for (forgive me) Democrats, but that might be overthinking it. Perhaps some of the individual people running the store may have leftist political views, but that doesn't take away a patron's right to select on their terms. However, I do highly recommend this store for college students; undergraduate specifically. Paired neatly with the values of Macalester college, students can find books on writing, religion, science, philosophy, gardening, Minnesotan Flora and Fauna, cooking, history, psychology, and memoirs for the nonfiction umbrella. As for the fiction section, it holds a great selection of science fiction, mysteries, horror, and the literary genre. The children's part in the far back is likewise a place where a child can become fixated for hours. For fast-thinkers, there's also fantastic collection of graphic novels and comic books. And, of course, an extensive collection of chapbooks, anthologies and collections by new and, well-established poets.”

“Clean and tidy, but as expected for private school bookstore, the merchandise (especially clothing) was WAY overpriced. Not sure about book prices - haven't crossed that bridge yet.”

“Great selection of all genres. I found copies of Mike Hammer, Edge, Martin Beck, some other obscure Penguin crime novelists, and more. Prices were good, some over, and some under the going market rate. But that is what is fun in shopping at the small friendly book stores!”

“Very clean and quiet the staff is pretty cool they have Security on site that's always a good thing and no problem getting on the computers I don't really mess with the books but they probably have plenty of those and they also have an entire other side that's more like a college setting I guess you could say but if you become a member you can utilize that side as well they have all the machines that you would need copier printer Etc I would highly recommend this place”

“This is my go-to stop for baby gifts! They have a remarkable selection of clothes, stuffed animals, toys, books, and general baby/new parent necessities. Everything in the store is clearly picked out with great care. I especially love the baby paper (soft material that produces a crinkly paper sound when touched) for a little congratulations gift. Their staff are delightful and their complimentary gift wrapping is so celebratory and chic.”
